@smilenstacy should have some grand terrace pics to share as she just got married and had her reception there! Both are nice locations but the grand terrace does not cost extra but the view from the caribbean terrace is gorgeous!

Hello!

I haven't been on here in a very long time as I have put the wedding planning on hold. I am now starting to continue planning and am realizing that I am not set on anything!

We have already reserved the Caribbean Terrace (rooftop) for the reception, but now I am beginning to contemplate moving the reception to the Grand Terrace (by the pool) so that I can decorate the pool with floating candles and Chinese lanterns. I am looking for your opinions and advice on this. It would be greatly appreciated! Also, if you can share photos that would be great.

Thank you in advance!!!

Thanks for the reply! Here is the thing though, we are getting married after sundown (ceremony begins at 5 and reception at 5:30), therefore I'm afraid that the beautiful view from the Caribbean terrace will not show. Can anyone advise on this?

Thanks!

What time of the year is your wedding? I had my 8:00 pm reception at the restuarant downstairs from the terrace and had our photos there two weeks ago. The light was great up until 8:30 or so.

My wedding is in December. When was yours? We were told that it gets dark by 5pm then. Do you know if this is true?

Thanks!

My wedding is December 19th and sunset is around 5:15pm! So you are right, the view might not be there after it goes down. Maybe ask yourself what overall vibe you want. you can still put candles and lanterns at the Caribbean terrace, but they will be placed differently. Try googling images of each reception place to see which you like best.

I'm getting married at Beach Palace in an area with a private pool, and I know they let brides put candles into the pool and string lanterns over. I think I've looked at every wedding reception in the space to get ideas haha (hours googling!)

Yes it will be dark- our wedding was at the end of November and our ceremony was at 4, cocktail and 5 and reception at 6 and it was dark by the time our reception started.

@shawn0487 where did you have your reception? What are your thoughts on having it on the Caribbean Terrace when it is dark? Is it still worth it? Would anything show?

Confused bride over here =(

When have other people heard from their on site coordinators? I have 20 days till my wedding and still haven't heard from our on site coordinator. My off site coordinator, Brenda, only responds to my emails about once a week and never answers all the question and requests I have. I'm getting nervous and frustrated about the whole thing.

I did not have my wedding at Moon- my wedding was at Sun.

But my rehearsal dinner was at Moon and it was on the verando terrace.

The view isn't as spectacular at night at the Caribbean terrace but it is still cool with the pretty bar and sort of seclusion. (they keep half of the terrace open to resort guests.)  Personally I don't think it's worth the extra cost per person to have the reception up there.

You should have been contacted at 30 days.  I would give the wedding dept a call!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
