I used all the free packages for the ceremony and reception. The package includes tablecloths and the white folding chairs.  My coordinator added orange napkins for a pop of color (orange was one of my colors) along with candles on the table at no extra charge! :)

Could anyone help me... We are going 4 the pearl shimmer collection for the ceremony but then for the meal I don't rely want to pay a lot for decoration as we are thinking of going away from the hotel for our party. Does anyone know what you get basic? Table and chairs tablecloths etc. Thanks in advance x

Hey fellow Brides! We were just given our official onsite wedding coordinator...Emy...I've seen mixed reviews (horrible and good) and want to see if anyone has had a recent experience dealing with her and your wedding. I don't want to start on the wrong foot by asking to get changed to another one, if she's been better with more recent brides...

Thanks!

Ladies! I am having the HARDEST time finding white long sleeve linen shirts at a reasonable price. My biggest problem are the sizes of my groomsmen. I have a size M, L, XL and XXXL! I can't find anywhere that carries the same shirt in all the sizes needed. Have any of you had any luck?

We bought all of our Groomsmen shirts at Moores for buy 1 get 1 free and they came in a multitude of sizes. The salemen work off commission so we were able to negoiate cost as well.

I'm working with Renee and her response time has been very stressful. I understand if it's a tough question or request that it may take some time, but I've waited over two weeks for her to confirm our venue for the reception and I'm going a little crazy. April and May are apparently their busiest times so I'm hoping it gets better come June.

I'd give her a chance, it seems like NONE of them are truly amazing so best not to upset them at all.

When is your wedding? I just found out that Renee is mine as well (my wedding is April 2015), and I haven't been contacted by her yet. Did you have to email her first?

Does anyone know what the plated menu options are?

Ooh yes I second this question! I have been wondering the same thing since I'm not sure if I want a buffet or not :)

Most of the plated menus are similar to the buffet menus except there is only one salad or appetizer, soup, entree and dessert option. you also have the option to create your own menu. There are also options that have an additional charge of $40 to $110 per person  (Lobster, Filet Mignon, Shrimp). There is an additional charge to have a plated menu which i can't remember exactly how much it was. (i want to say $25 per person) I think it's a little ridiculous that they try to tack on all these additional charges at an all inclusive resort. @@KatyM81 & @@shelikespink

Wow yes that IS ridiculous! Okay well thanks for the information, I think that helped me to take that option off the table :)

Just out of curiosity - who was your coordinator? I also wanted to do colored napkins for a pop of color and had been thinking of purchasing my own to bring, but if they provide them for free that's much better!!

@@KatyM81 No problem! If you want to take a look at the menus give me your email and i'll send it to you.

Thank you! I might take you up on that later if we aren't getting the higher RSVP numbers that we are expecting... :)

We are getting married November 6, 2014 (5 months away!) She emailed me first after the deposit went through. She sent me an email to set up a phone call and it was just a quick introductory to what she'll be doing for you. I had a list of questions ready to go which I found helpful. After that she'll send you a huge email with a bunch of the vendors, moon palace booking info and a bunch of other stuff.

I'm hoping the communication will get better as we get closer and out of their busy season - I'll let you know!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
