Hi is anyone having a Hindu Indian wedding at moon palace in November 2014 ?  We are looking for a priest to fly in and were seeing if anyone would like to share the services during the weekend. It would be seamless and cost effective.

Also, if you had a hindu priest for your wedding, we would love your thoughts and suggestions for coordinating travel and referrals for Priests that travel.

Many thanks!  November 2014 bride to be

I highly doubt they would allow it, but it doesn't hurt to ask! :)

Can anyone answer whether the club could be used as a back up location for the reception in case of rain, on a day that it is closed (Sunday)? Tia!

Ladies, this question is for those who had a chuppah- given that each collection includes a structure that's different from a chuppah, were you able to have them make some changes to it in order to create a chuppah for you? I know that they are not flexible with making changes to their packages so this is a concern. Also, I am wondering if it would it be possible to add flower arrangements to the tables (using one of the preferred flower vendors) if I choose the table decorations from one of their wedding collections?

Lastly, for those of you that had the reception at the Caribano Terrace, were you able to extend the hours past 10pm?

Tia! =)

Hello, For the Caribbean Terrace I extended my reception to 11Pm but had the option to extend to 12. I had to ask a few times before they said that it was an option. At 10pm they made us turn the music quite a bit lower too.

Thanks for the reply, @@shan0487! I haven't spoken directly to anyone from MP yet as all communications were done through my TA. I will have to wait until after the contract is signed to get this question answered.. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they will agree to it =)

@@Britt also thank you for your reply! Did you have to get the permission in writing? This is important to me so I would love some pointers on how to get this done.

Also, dear brides, I am having a huge issue right now and am in need of some advice. I finally received the wedding contract through my TA, and although most things are pretty straight forward the most important things are not written well at all. For instance, the location of the reception is not indicated, which is something that is very important to us and we do not feel comfortable signing anything and giving a deposit until we know for sure that we are guaranteed the reception location that we have asked for. Also, the contract states that the "wedding date and time may be modified" this seems bizarre to me. Additionally, only the time of 4pm for the ceremony is indicated, but there is no clause about cocktail hour (or the time/duration of the cocktail hour), and no indication of duration/time for the reception. My fiancé who is an attorney and deals with contracts all the time says that we must add some clauses to it before we may sign it. I agree with him 100%, but don't know what is the most efficient way of getting this done. I really just want to do this ASAP and be done with it. I am so frustrated as I was waiting impatiently for this contract to finally sign it and be able to order our STDs and let everyone know of our wedding date!

For anyone that had to make changes or additions to their wedding contract were you successful? and if so, how did you do it? Also, I should add that the contract we've been given is in pdf format, so it's not like we can make changes directly to the document.. we'd have to go back and forth with this I imagine and it may take a while. Please advise =)

Tia!

Beware MP brides. The resort has just changed their policy and charging $800 for outside vendors no matter what type! I hired an outside photographer and what used to be a day pass of $97 per photographer is now $800!!!!!! Ridiculous and extreme! Outside flower vendors are also $800! This is a huge turnoff. You are basically forced to use all of their vendors who also charge 16% tax plus 15% service fee! My outside photographer, DelSol does not charge ANY fees on top of their rate. They also don't allow you to we resort credits for anything related to wedding except the wedding collections at $3K and up!!!

@@november15 Hola, you'd be surprised but there are actually quite a few local Indian priests now offering traditional Hindu & Sikh ceremonies throughout the Riviera Maya (including Moon Palace) so no flight or hotel accommodations necessary. We recently shot a Sikh wedding at MP and were talking to them about this very topic.

Let us know if we can be of any help! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
