Sorry to hear, but if I were you I would go over my contract for the room block and if it doesn't specify in there then your fight is going to be a winner. If the contract only says 75 room nights just keep fighting it. I would no give them a damn cent for set up and I will request all my free events to be honored. SMH. Also, try to get in contact with their wedding director, she is very reasonable. I also know that she checks this thread often so keep fighting.  They can now say whatever they want, if it is not in written they is just what they are saying, vs. what is stated in your contract.

My TA gave me a contract that I had to return with my deposit to block the rooms, your TA didn't provide anything in written at all and you just give them the money?

I have to say that, that is very nerve wrecking. I just reserved my date on Monday and the TA stated that she was sending the paperwork over this week. I haven't received the paperwork and while I've very excited I know that if I don't put my deposit down then I won't have my rooms reserved. I am concerned because I am certainly banking on those free unlimited private events.

What should we be looking for in our contracts? I'm so early and new in the wedding planning process I'm unsure about the things that I should be requesting for my contract.

Hi everyone, this is my first post and I am loving all the information about the Palace Resorts that I am reading on here, very helpful!! We aren't actually getting married until Feb 2015, but I have been in contact with our wedding coordinator and just got our group room pricing and I feel like it is outrageous. I have seen other brides complain about it but this is the highest I have seen yet. They are quoting me $250/person/day for a double occupancy room. She quoted my sister's family of 5 (2 adults/3 kids) $836/night.  Is this what you all are being quoted as well? I would love to see what other brides have contracted for their group rates. If this is the going rate then I will stop complaining, but I just don't think so. I know it is top shelf liquor and all the food we can drink but I still feel like this is a very high per person rate. Please help with what you all are agreeing to pay, maybe I am just on my own here? Thank you for your help!

My agreement is 5 pages long, it specifies dates of room block, prices, # of rooms, timeline for room release, charges in % for rooms released after certain date assigned by the resort. rules to abide by with resorts and travel agent, their responsibility with me and my group, and my responsibilities toward them, it also clearly specifies about the free events with 75 room nights - which is basically everything that is stated at the palace website. I does not say anywhere anything about any number of people.

It specify about the resort dollars, check in/ out time. It also says that the rooms need to be booked using my agent and my group code for rooms to count towards my total.

But now that is my TA agreement, not sure what others do, I am pretty sure all people getting into a contract with a resort an agreement (contract) is a MUST.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
