Hiii,

I just put our deposit down for January 2014!!   Congratulations to all of you!!

I have been going to Moon Palace on vacation with my family for several years so I am happy to answer questions about the resort.  We are having a hard time with room rates-- it seems like the rates we are getting quoted are rather high and a travel agent we know can get them for less, but they won't count towards our rooms for the wedding for the purposes of the reception, etc.  Any suggestions?  Also, anyone know if you have to pay extra per table if you get the complimentary package but you are having more people than 30?

thanks!!

Hi, I was a Playacar Palace bride for 2014 but taking advantage of the "stay in one, play at all" we made my three day site inspection a 3 different inspections at MP, Playacar Palace and Cozumel Palace. I LOVE-LOVE the PP but we are planning on having kids at our wedding so after seen all the fun at MP we decided that even-though the not as nice beach was a bummer, we wanted to switch to MP, just because there is much more to do there, I also got carried away by the carriages, the horses are OH so beautiful!

By the second day I was already bored of eating at PP, and we were out during the day 2 of the two days :-O

Anyway, I am so excited, I got my contract! Wedding date is August 22nd. I ordered my save the date and I should be receiving tomorrow, I will hold on to them until mid August to send them out though :-)

Congrats to you all!

I am a NYC August 2014 bride and after reading this I must set my dates immediately!!! I have several questions #1 can anyone recommend me a great travel agent that will allow my guest to do a deposit and then payment arrangements? Did any brides feel having a travel agent was less stressful? Can you stay at one resort and then have your wedding at another? Does anyone have any information on any indoor reception areas as I was told it could be as hot as 100 F during August? Also the chapel is beautiful does anyone have any information on that? In addition if you choose the chapel how would they implement the elements from the Colin designs? In regards to receiving unlimited events does anyone know what kind of decor they set up? And if they say unlimited is this unlimited up until my stay? Or just the day before and day after the wedding? Besides the music bands soloist etc. what other type of entertainment is offered? I'm also having a hard Time deciding moon over beach palace... Mainly because of the beach issue and I want my guest to fund every part enjoyable. I really appreciate any help!! Thanks everyone and Congrats!!!!

Congrats. I am from NY too! My date is August 22nd. For you to get the chapel, you can get it but, if you are having a non catholic wedding and someone else is getting married on your date/time, they will move you to another gazebo in order to accommodate the catholic wedding.

There are some ballrooms, we did a site inspection, they are pretty but it will take a lot more money to decorate for a wedding since they can look very conference like!

I saw the chapel decorated for one of the Colin designs the lavender color one, they add a runner, some flowers, etc.  Not much. You can hire a DJ for entertainment.

We were a Playacar Palace couple which has an awesome beach but we fell in love with the many amenities the MP has to offer and after careful consideration we decided that with so many pools at the MP, guest will probably not miss the beach.

Hope this helps

  • 2 weeks later...

I used destinationweddings.com and was able to have guests make deposits then have interest free payment plans which worked out well! My agent was Brittany Schiffler and I think she saved me TONS of stress becasue she dealt with all the guests the resort and paperwork.

I havenâ€t quite had a chance to read over all of the 2012 and 2013 forum yet but Iâ€m wondering mostly about the photography package that comes with the wedding package and the DJ that the resort offers. It seems for both of these most people seem to go with an outside vendor. Has any one chosen to go with the resorts options and have you heard any reviews about them good or bad?

Thanks!

Hi Juliebeth! Check out PSAV, they are much cheaper than JSAV and they are an allowed vendor at Moon palace! My contact was Miroslava and her email is marriaga@psav.com

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
