Hey guys!  I am hopefully going to be a 2014 MP Bride!!  Thanks for all the information on here - it is so helpful and comforting to know that we are all in the same boat.  Anyways, before we finalize, we are trying to make sure we are getting the best deal possible.  If you guys don't mind sharing, what are the group rates that you are getting for MP?

I've been busy trying to do some DIY things, and here are a couple of things I've done so far:

1. Asking my friends to by my bridesmaids.
I got the idea from Wedding Chicks http://www.weddingchicks.com/2011/08/03/will-you-be-my-bridesmaid/

I bought all the items, painted the boxes, printed cards written on Word, and embossed the card with the dress:

outside of box:

400

inside items:

400

items assembled inside box:

400

2. Save the Dates

I go the idea for boarding pass STD from previous brides here, but I didn't want them to be beachy. Sarah from Signatures by Sarah http://www.signaturesbysarah.com/ designed the boarding pass and interested in joining us tag, and they are awesome! I designed the ticket jacket, made the mini magnets on MagnetStreet, paper from Paper and More, envelopes from envelopemall.com, and printing at Office Depot. I love them!

Is anyone on here having a reception when you come back home rather than a full reception at MP? We are having one two weeks after we return, so I don't want to pay a bunch of extra money to do form reception related things at the resort, but I don't want to just disperse everyone after the ceremony. I am thinking just use the dinner reservation and then go dancing at the disco afterward. Just wondering if there are others doing something similar and how they're going about it :) Thanks!

We did the complimentary package and loved it! It was nice to just be able to pick everything ourselves and not be limited to certain table clothes, flowers, etc. We used Zuniga for all of our centerpieces and decorations and they were great to work with and prices weren't too bad! We used Ocean Photo Studio for photo and video and found that they did a great job! I am expecting to get pictures and video back from them this week and will definitely be posting a review once I do! They actually have an office at Moon Palace so they are very familiar with the resort and know the best places to take pictures!

Hi Ladies, I was on here quite a while ago reading but have since confirmed that I will be getting married January 23, 2014 at MP!! Iâ€m so excited!!! I havenâ€t quite had a chance to read over all of the 2012 and 2013 forum yet but Iâ€m wondering mostly about the photography package that comes with the wedding package and the DJ that the resort offers. It seems for both of these most people seem to go with an outside vendor. Has any one chosen to go with the resorts options and have you heard any reviews about them good or bad?

Thanks!

I was thinking of maybe just using the night club.. but I have heard all they play is techno. Anyone been able to experience what it really is like? I'm trying to plan a site visit I'm just not sure if it will happen or not :( [/quob February 19th 2014, we will be there from the 16th-23rd.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
