I'm in the same dilemma. but I have just been told by my TA that the rates for Feb 2014 is up! and that they can get started on getting us quotes now. I'm heading out from Calgary, but the rest of the group is leaving from Vancouver, hope for under $1500 per person...anyone with suggestions for the Maya area?

Hey,

Some of the All-Inclusive Resorts that I have looked at range from $1,044 to $1,066 p/p (airfare no included). Are you looking at family-oriented resorts or adults-only? Here are some of the resorts that I have looked at:

  1. RIVIERA MAYA
    • Dreams Rivera Cancun Resort & Spa
    • Dreams Resort Cancun & Spa
    • Azul Beach
    • Azul Sensatori
    • Azul Fives
    • El Dorado Seaside
    • El Dorado Maroma

Even if you don't deal with DW you should just check out this website just so you get an idea of the locations. I am  working with DW, but I am not sure if I would seal a deal with them yet.

When you say that that the rates for Feb 2014 are up, do you mean that they can give you tentative quotes? Because I am in Canada too and my TA said that while we have a tentative quote for Jan 2014 (meaning the price won't be any higher than what she is quoting us now), the actual pricing doesn't come out until around June. Which vacation company are you booking through?

We are getting married at the Grand Bahia Principe resort. Our tentative quotes are around $1700pp, incl flight, transfers, and rooms for 1wk. The GBP wedding packages are reasonably priced and its on a nice stretch of beach with both white sand and good coral area for snorkling (from what we are told). It might be worth looking into cheesy.gif

Happy planning!!!

I I have been to a wedding at the GBP (June 2012) and it was great! I have just started looking into resorts and dates for early 2014 as well. I'm already feeling overwhelmed with having to make a decision on a resort as there are so many in the Cancun/Mayan area. Good luck with everyone's planning!

I found my TA through an online search for TA's in my area (Denver). I found a local place and they specialize in all-inclusive resorts and they do a ton a DW's for people all over the country, (and maybe even Canada?). Hiring them has been the best decision we've made so far with our planning. Our agent has been very patient and helpful with us as far as picking out the resort went. We definitely used his expertise and knowledge and will benefit along with all of our guests with the discounted group rates, etc.I would highly recommend a TA as well!

We have some great rates & location suggestions for the Mayan Riviera for 2014 already! The RIU Palace Peninsula recently opened and offers a stunning backdrop for your wedding, and a great place for all your guests needs!  Send us a quick email with your details and wedding dreams to [email protected] and we would be happy to help find your dream location!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
