Argh...

I just typed a lot and a lot of it went buh-bye.

Okay. So...

I'm July 2014 bride.

We already know where and when we want but have not made the reservation yet: 7/15/2014 Beaches Negril

Thankfully we are from FL and most of our family is in FL/GA so the flight won't be so expensive, which is awesome.

This is what we have done so far:

-Picked Resort and Package (no reservation yet though)

-Picked STD/Invites design

-Create Wedding Guest List

How soon should I reserve resort...?

Are you using TA or dealing with the resort WC directly?

Hey Tara, Welcome! And congrats, if your not particular about date and times then there isn't so much of a hurry. We won't know exact cost for guests til late August, but I think most of us ladies have reserved the date and time at the resort for our ceremony. Myself I have also chosen the package, ceremony site, reception venue, I even haven't photographer and dress(I'm a little early on the latter but its 8 months til it's arrival) I've got ideas for my STD/invitations but won't be finalizing those til August when I can give my guests more accurate info. I think for most brides your on your own schedule but I live this site for all the ideas, information the other ladies can help you with. Happy planning! Liana

Don't worry, I'm planning our wedding for Friday July 25th 2014 too, and I'm SOOOOO torn between three resorts. I've already booked my date and time and reception site at the Grand Palladium in Jamaica, but now I'm very concerned it'll be too pricey for my guests despite the fact that I adore the resort so very much. So I've been considering the Grand Palladium in the Mayan, and the Grand Riviera Princess also in Mexico. Does anyone have any ideas about any of these resorts. I'm also glad that I'm not the only one whose planning so far ahead. I thought I was crazy, but its good to know I'm not alone. :mswink:
We totally have the same wedding date!!! I'm getting married at the Barcelo Maya Palace in Riveria Maya. I have accomplished just about the same as you as well!!! lol ..

So how is the wedding planning going ladies! My fiance and I are eagerly waiting for the schedules and ticket prices before we set anything else down in stone and order the STDs etc, but I'm super excited and wrapped up in the planning. Lori, the picture of your STDs didn't come through, have your samples arrived yet?

What are you ladies planning to include in your STDs anyways?

Yay July 2014 Brides! I booked my wedding for July 1 2014 at the Barcelo Maya Palace Deluxe.  So far:  - booked our date with the resort - chose our wedding package - chose our wedding party - invited our guests (via email due to the short notice for our GREAT group rate) - most guests have put deposits down  - booked our trip! I have found that choosing the resort was the hardest part but I am so relieved to have found one!
Wow you are way ahead of your planning!! Way to go!! How did you get your guests to book already? Did they just book the room? I haven't been able to book anything yet and still have my date on hold because the TA I'm working with do the whole flight/hotel package and the flights for July 2014 aren't out yet.

Wedding planning is finally coming along. I have started purchasing a few things already and I'm soo excited because I'm in the process of booking my photographer... just need to review the contract and sign it. I did receive my STD (I will post it again, don't know what happened) and of course after I received it I realized I didn't even put the name of the resort! DUUHH!!! I also changed a color from my theme so I will have to edit that as well. I feel like time is flying!!

Has anyone gone dress shopping yet? I am dying to go because I already have a few in mind I want to try on but I still think it's a little to early for the dress.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
