    Hey everyone!

Boy do I feel better after finding this website. It seems so helpful. My husband and I were married 08/28/11 but had no ceremony, party or anything with hopes to renew our vows and throw a real wedding in the coming years.

Now I am "ready" to plan I have no idea where to start. I still don't know if I will be able to afford a decent sized wedding or if I should do something super small. It seems like many people use travel agents, are those helpful?

I am super lost and overwhelmed. Ideally I would love to marry between 04/2014 - 08/2014 somewhere in Dominican Republic. Maybe La Romana (I love Dreams), but Santo Domingo seems cheaper and def more accessible for my family over there.

I am going to browse this site in hopes for some guidance. Any recommendations or tips are welcome!

Welcome!! If you are unsure of what to do hers what I suggest. Set a budget and then ask your guest what is the most they want to spend. That should narrow down your search some as well.Reasearch resorts in the area you want to go to that fit what you are looking for and that fit your budget.

After narrowing it down then I would find a travel agent to put trip together. You don't pay them the travel company does so its win win for the customer!!

If you're open to a boutique hotel on the north shore of the DR, there's a small intimate venue right at Cabarete that would be an excellent choice for a small group - like about 2 dozen people.

It's called "Vecinos" and there's a link to their website here......
