Hi ladies!

Hope your weekends were good.  I did a last minute shopping trip across the boarder today to Buffalo, NY and found some GREAT stuff.

"fake" pencil starfish for the boutonnieres and centre pieces for the AHR and possibly the for the handles on my girls bouquets.

These were at the Christmas Tree Shop for $2.29/bag of 6.  These are the small ones they also had a bag of 6 large one's for $5.99

(For some reason they look bigger in the picture but are about half this size!

I also got this paper from Target for $8.99/100 sheets.  It is PERFECT for the inside passport invite pages, now just still searching for the card stock paper for the 'cover' page.

Just wanted to let you know that a trip to the states could be a good choice, Christmas Tree Shop has TONS of stuff.. just didn't have a lot of time in there.

Ughhh I am so jealous! Its nearly impossible to find starfish here and I am also too far from the border to make a trip over there :( My theme is going to be palm trees (as our arch for the beach will be covered in palms) and starfish. But the starfish almost depends on if I can get any lol! Not many of the sites online will ship starfish to Canada... I guess I might have to get my aunt in Florida to pick some up for me or have some sent to her and then she could send them over. Has anyone checked Michaels or know if they ever have starfish there?

The Target just opened in my town last week, so Im sure they will all be opening soon.  Michaels carries a starfish garland thing which is over priced.  If I go back to the states would anyone like me to pick up some starfish ? Let me know... and I can mail them to you.  I will be going back before May.

Kay let me know when you go and I might get an order of starfish! I just found a website... paper-garden.ca which is based in Canada and sells all types of metallic and regular paper/cardstock which are great for making invites! I just bought some Astrobright Glisten paper (it was on clearance for .20 cents a sheet)! I bought 65 sheets for like 13$ I was going to just buy a couple sheets to see if its that colour I want but shipping was 12$ so I ended up being enough for my invites 65 sheets and shipping was still 12$ so I am really hoping its the colour I am looking for. Its called Red Rocket but it looks coralish and it was listed under the pink/fushia heading so I am guessing its more pink coral then red.

Heres a link to it...http://paper-garden.ca/products.php?cat=302 ; its the bottom one Red rocket.

Like I said I am planning on making DIY airline ticket invites. I have already designed the invite... just waiting to confirm our information. I will be using a pearlescent white paper for the actual ticket invite. And then use the paper I just bought for the sleeve the ticket will sit in. I also bought little starfish pendants off ebay ( 1$ for 35 and free shipping -just received them today adn they are awesome -I just bid on another set of 35 for 1$!!) and I will tie these around the sleeve with ribbon... probably a lighter coloured ribbon in the coral coloured family. I am trying to decide what colour envelope to go with? They don't have matchin envelopes with the colour I am using for the sleeve, so I guess I'll wait til I receive it and then go from there... I might just go with a pearlescent white one to match the ticket invite. What do you guys think would look best?

Kay,

I may take you up on that I have seen Starfish at Michaels but you are right they are way over priced and I need 50 LOL! I may change my mind about them and just not have them at all, let me know when you are going and I can Paypal you the money! That would be awesome that is the one thing that I wished I lived a little closer to the boarder, shopping! I know that we are getting a couple Targets but I dont think that they are opening here for another couple months!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
