HI LADIES! I am so sorry I disappeared..... When this site change I gave up on it a little bit.  Our wedding was Absolutely amazing, we couldn't of asked for anything to be done differently.  The week was amazing, we partied day and night and I am sure the hotel staff and other guests were glad to see us leave lol.  Just amazing, best decision we ever made was doing a destination wedding.  All of our guests loved the resort and would return to the Iberostar Laguna Azul.

@@amandab36 It went well! I didn't need much, just taking the back out a little to help avoid the "back fat overlap" haha! I will take photos at my next appt when I pick it up :)

Hey ladies. Just a quick question. Did anyone have any trouble receiving their marriage certificate?

We were married Jan 25th. I emailed the wedding coordinator because I was wondering if there was a tracking number for the certificate. I was anxious to see where it was in transit. Giselle emailed me back and said that she would need my address to send the certificate. I didn't think we had to request this. I filled out an information sheet prior to us going to Cuba. There was a spot there that said "home address (so we can send certificate)". Giselle said she sent it out for mailing but still two weeks later and I can't track my shipment.

Anyone have a similar situation? Was it resolved? I'm getting nervous :)

Hi Everyone!  I was so set on getting married at the Melia Cayo Santa Maria until I saw pictures of the resort and wedding pictures of other brides at this resort.  We would really like to get married in September 2015.

I was wondering how much flowers and centerpieces cost?

Also, how much did the bridal hair and makeup charge?

I couldn't find any of the prices on the Iberostar website.

@@diadiamond the bridal bouquet is included in the price of the wedding package as well as your fiancés boutonniere. Depending on what type of flowers you'd like for your bridesmaid bouquets will depend on the price of the bouquet. Mine were lilies and roses and the were 25CUC each. I only had two of them so a total of 50CUC. I think if you want Calla lilies they may be more. The boutonnieres were like 3-5 CUC (not expensive at all!).

Centrepieces were included in the price of the package as well. If you wanted extra ones there was an additional cost. Not sure about the price, but I don't think you need any extras.

Bridal hair was 50 CUC. I paid for my girls hair as well so a total of $150 for all of us. They don't have a make up artist at the resort. I went to Sephora and did a tutorial and bought all my makeup and used Youtube to practice. I thought my makeup looked awesome and was soo happy to have done it myself. I brought half falsie eye lashes and just had my sister apply them for me.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Hi everyone!

I'm getting married at the ILA in Jan 2015... I'm really excited, but as me and the hubby to be are coming from the UK we only have a really small bridal party (likely to be between 12-14), and I'm getting a bit worried about what we're gonna do once the service and meal is over! I liked the idea of a little disco party on the beach, but the forms I got from my TA say you need over 30 people for this :( Wanted to do something private, but looks as though we might end up at the nightclub with all the other hotel guests!

Have any of you guys seen any smaller wedding parties at the hotel and what they chose for their big day?

Anyway, nice to meet you all :) Laura xx

Hi @@lauraptak ! Welcome to the ILA thread! I think most of us have been married already within the past year but I try to check up on the site every now and then! Are you a member of the Iberostar Laguna Azul Brides page on facebook? If not I'd recommend asking to join because there is a ton of information on there.

I would contact the wedding coordinator directly and see if it would be possible to have a party on the beach with your number. I don't think there is actually a limit or worse comes to worse if there is you'd just have to pay for those "extra" people. Also there is an option of renting the disco from 9-11pm and it would be private and that is a set fee of  500 CUC so I can't see why they wouldn't allow you to rent that out based on your number of guests because it is a flat fee. I know other people with smaller groups have definitely done private parties. I don't think it will be an issue :)

Let me know if you have any more questions! I was just married there on May 5th, 2014!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
