When I first started looking I knew I wanted the ILA. I did look into other resorts and almost went to another one but the spa terrace just did it for me. I could not see myself getting married anywhere else but on that terrace! Also I know every year it changes and it depends where you are flying from, but when we got our group quote end of April 2013 we got an amazing deal $1177 taxes included from Halifax and now she continues to send us the quotes and its up to $1514 so I'd recommend checking for pricing in April 2014! Oh and congratulations on your engagement!!!

Kay2015,

You sound like you are starting off right, that is what I spent the most time on, writing things down, picking what was the most important to the two of you... location, price, amenities things like that! That was probably the hardest thing for me, there are so many things to think about, for us Cuba was easy to get legally married and we love the beaches and the people, plus we figured that it would be a treat because most people haven't travelled there! Not to mention how awesome thins site is, you have come to the right place!

Thanks for your thoughts... I love Cuba but unfortunately we won't be getting married there where most of the same people that attended the wedding we went to will be attending ours and we wanted a place where no one been. Well a place where most people haven't been. We have decided on Jamaica and I'm looking into the Iberostar chains down there and what they have to offer. Our plan will be to book in early 2014 (April or MAy )

I picked my destination first I considered how easy it was to get married there, prices and so on, then once I chose Cuba I spoke with my TA and together we picked 4 resorts, from there it was a matter of what I wanted my guests and myself to pay, for us we got the Iberostar Varadero from Calgary for $1490 including taxes it is sold out now but a few weeks ago it was over $2200 per person so we lucked out, another advantage to using a TA is that there are usually deals for group travel, ours was for every 20 rooms we got the 21 free so with our 49 guests we got 2 free rooms which is awesome because since we are going for 2 weeks we had a big bill to pay so those room credits really came in handy!

Don't worry it is a lot at first and overwhelming but you will get there!

Congrats and happy planning

Carina and Jolene, I can't tell you ladies how much fun we had at our Jack N Jill this weekend!  There was a surprise Flash Mob "Grease Lightening" that literally moved me to tears...all the girls in PINK LADIES jackets and the guys in T-BIRDS shirts/jackets...it was sooo much fun!  I had our photographer there taking pictures so I can't wait to see them..here is one from a friend's camera where my sister did the best Photo BOOM ever! LOL....

*

The guests LOVED the Welcome Bags and were super thrilled and the best part was that we raised enough money that the price dropped from $92.22 per person for the Catamaran down to $32 per person for the entire group!  Can't wait to share this with my guests in my Fall Newsletter.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
