Hey Carina. I'm not necessarily doing a seating chart. What I'm doing is combining favours and place cards into one. Although a bit bulky, I have fallen in love and will be doing these as favours. I will put them all out on a table and label them with names and palapa # and then everyone will pick up their cup and find their seat. They are plastic and very lightweight. I'm also doing stripped straws that match our wedding colours. I can't wait!! I got a pretty good deal too.

I don't really know yet how I am going to label the palapas. Maybe a burlap square or something. Hmmm now you have me thinking. I'll work on that and let you know what I find.

So we went into a Le Chateau on the weekend and found the guys outfits. They are "linen like", I say linen like because they have a bit of a pleat in the front of the pant. The shirt is a white long sleeve shirt also the same "linen like" material. The guys will roll the sleeves up and wear a flip flop sandal. A bit casual but I really like the look. I am however looking to have my fiance stand out. I don't like the look of a shirt with just a tie. Do any of you ladies have ideas on how I can make him look different from the groomsmen? HELP please! lol

I don't have pictures with me at work. I'll post when I have them.

Carina,

I am pretty much done,

I made To Have and To Hold Money and key card holders and I did them last weekend

I printed the tags for the bubbles, and FI crazy glued 50 little starfish charms onto all the bubbles, I just have to figure out how to attach the tags.

I have to print the Map for the Guest Book

I think that I am going to do a week at a glace kind of timeline for everyone, but not 100% sure

I am finished all the barefoot sandals I just have to put them in their bag and figure out how to tag them

I STILL NEED A WEDDING BAND but am saving that for the end of September

I had 6 more people add from Winnipeg they booked last weekend, so I have to email the resort their booking number as soon as I get it

I got my hair accessory finally after searching and searching!

I have bridesmaid gifts I just have to wrap them, I think that I will give them at the airport although maybe before.

A friend of mines mom is making my garter, so that is in the works

I have to pick a shirt for the groomsmen lol I like to leave people wondering right until the end (JK)

Then of course there is all the personal grooming that I will need to do before we go and I need to get a hair cut desperately... I am saving that for the end of September so it has a little time to do its thing before the wedding!

And then there is a little shopping, but that is on going

Packing List for my self... currently everything is sitting in our spare bedroom in piles I don't want to forget anything

Wow I think that's it... it is kind of nice to write it all out and see there really isn't much left!

I am not doing seating chart or name cards the table will be set up in a banquet U shape, so other than the head table I don't really have a preference on where people are sitting, I figure sit where and with who you want, new friendships I am sure will be made so I don't want to get in the middle of that. Plus that is one more thing that sounds like I may stress over, so you know what you don't like someone don't sit by them... like them sit with them! :D

I'd say do a vest. That's what we're doing. FI is wearing a white shirt, tie, and vest (I also dislike the look of shirt and tie only), and then the boys are just wearing pants and white shirt. I am going to have them wear their shirts long sleeved during the ceremony and wear brown shoes for the ceremony. After that they can roll their sleeves up and put on flipflops if they'd like.

Alley,

why not a vest or Jacket for the Groom, I am doing the pants, rolled up shirts and flip flops for our groomsmen and then Troy is going to wear a Jacket, at least for the ceremony and pictures and then after that he can take it off if he'd like... a vest might be better and less hot, but something to consider!

Ohhh now you have me thinking... I was also wondering how I would label the palapas... I thought maybe I'd just use cardstock and cut a letter out... but now I am thinking maybe I'll do Palapas A, Palapas B, Palapas C cut out of burlap and make it into a banner and hang it with twine. It can be tied onto the round wood supports where the stairs are going up to the palapas! I think that will look great! Or I may just use A, B, C... that way its not as much work... although that might be too boring... so I don't know hahaha!

I know, FI has been to Le Chateau and tried on the linen suit, and I wasn't crazy about it.  So he will be getting something like your FI hopefully, once he tries on something different :)  We are going Friday night I hope ...

Hi Alley,

FI's groomsmen are wearing the same as yours & for my FI to stand out he will be wearing a vest!  Hopefully this helps :)

I know that there are about 15 people that have already finished paying and I haven't heard of anyone changing their mind but for some reason I am still really nervous about it... it's just like when I was waiting for everyone to make their deposits! Oh well another 10 days of "stress" I still feel like I am doing better than all other Brides (that get married at home) when it come to that! And there are 68 days until we leave 70 days until I am married!

Yay! It is coming fast!  So exciting ... try not to stress, everything will turn out :)

Such an awesome idea Alley.  I am not doing a seating chart just place cards, But I do need a couple of signs for other stuff that I would like displayed at the ceremony.  When I come up with something I will be sure to share :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
