I also want to try to make my own hair flower, I made barefoot sandals they were actually pretty easy, I think I am going to make all the females in our group a pair, I cannot spend so much money on things that I think that I can do myself! Welcome Jamdrea!!!  Giselle is the wedding coord.'s name, and you have the correct email.  Sometimes she takes a little while to reply back to emails as she is a very busy lady.  Again here is the correct email bodas@laguna.co.cu

Hello Jamdrea!

Like Jolene I am not actually getting married at this resort so I can't comment on getting in touch with her, although I had contacted her to get information and she did get back to me about 2 weeks later, but that was really the only contact I had with her. I know all of the resort wedding co-ordinators are veru busy and will eventually get back to you. I know it makes it super stressful, but just remember they don't run on "North American" time, they run on caribbean time... which can very slow!

Jolene I was planning on making barefoot sandals as well for my MOH and Bridesmaid... I haven't asked them yet but am planning on making them and giving them to them when I ask! I am not that crafty but they seem like they shouldn't be THAT hard to make and I just cannot justify paying $45-70 / pair when I know I could make the three sets for less then one pair! I am just trying to decide what I want them to look like! Do you have a picture to share of the ones you have made?

About the hair flower... are you looking to make it from scratch? Or are you just going to buy a flower and add a clip to it? I have done it before for a tropical party I went to... all I did was bought a flower (maybe from the dollarstore and a plain hair clip) and then hot glued them together. It was super easy and very cute! I had seen a thread somewhere (I am thinking it was somewhere on BDW) about how to make one from scratch -like from some material but I can't remember where I found it! If I come across it I'll post it on here!

Csho,

I am planning on just buying a flower and adding a clip, but then was also thinking that maybe it would be fun to add some bling and feather or something like that but I can't even seem to find a flower that I like! LOL I am not trying very hard just check out Michaels when I am there, this so much time thing is killing me I have zero motivation.

I have one picture it was on my cell so it isnt the greatest and the sandal was laying on my bed when I took the picture but it was really easy, I bought seed beads at Michals and then I bought some 5mm elatic string and also got some bigger beads and went to town, I had the hardest time getting the beads on the string so I bought a bead needle, best $3 ever spent.

I took the string and cut about just under an arms length, then I threaded on about 50 beads onto the centre (this part goes around the toe), then I put the two ends together and threaded on some beads, followed by some bigger beads (this part goes up the foot) then I tried it on and added beads until it was at the length I wanted, then I separated the strings again and beaded each side until it was the right length to go araound my ankle. Then I tied the ends, I read somewhere to use bead glue to hold the knots I used clear nail polish, and so far so good. here is one, I will try to remeber to add some more when I get home. let me know if you have any questions.

Oh Jolene! Those are awesome! I love them!!! So did you just tie a knot at the back? Or did you use a clasp to put it together? I guess if its the elastic string it has a little give to it so can probably use just a knot? I am sooo excited to get started on mine... Now I really just need to get some time to go out shopping for the supplies!

I just tied a knot actually a few, since it is elastic it is really slippery thats why I used the nail polish to secure the knots. I guess you could use a clasp but Then you would run into problems tiying the string onto the clasp. Some people I have read use wire, but I like that the elastic has some give I would worry the wire would snap and there would be beads everywhere! I am going to get really good and then do the bridal ones!

Thanks Jolene - I don't really want to be the main contact for booking the travel arrangements for the wedding group so I will definitely be going with a TA.

Kay - I have tried both the emails you provided (however the website indicated the contact was Lisset not Giselle).

Csho - I guess I will just wait to hear back. Island time is so nice for vacation but so stressful when wedding planning hahaha.

Thanks for the warm welcome ladies. :)

ps. thos barefoot sandals look so amazing - never even heard of them before. Wow. I'm excited to get and share ideas here too.

Jamdrea I know! So stressful! I spent a semester in Barbados on exchange during university and that was probaably the hardest thing to get used to. Everything was done sooooooo slowly! By the time I left I was on island time and found it hard to get back in to the swing of things lol! But from my understanding everything seems to always work out great! The coordinators do this day in and day out so they have it down to a science! Did you get your wedding date already confirmed? Also have you been on the Iberostar Laguna Azul Brides FB group? It has soooo much information on it and there are tons of past brides on there that can help answer any questions. Like I said I have decided not to get married there but I am still on the group because I love getting ideas from the group!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
