Pre-wedding weight loss tips and exercise programs

Recommended Posts

Wow, some really good tips... I go to the gym 4 times a week for 30-60mins, I generally do cardio for 30 mins, then a combination of resistance machines, kettlebells and hula hoops for the other 30 mins, this way I get a full body workout. I also just did a half marathon training programme with a friend, it was pretty intense, but I can feel the difference, not just weight loss/inches but my fitness levels are much better. I have also adopted a mainly vegan diet, which wasn't a huge change for me and my fi as we were veggie before that.

I'm in Canada and I started going to GoodLife in February. It wasn't totally just to loose weight/look better for the wedding, but it isn't hurting! I do cardio and weights at least 5 times a week. The biggest change I have seen is in my arms and shoulders, which is nice as I'm wearing a strapless dress.

I'm more worried about being in a bathing suit in front of friends and family than what I will look like in my dress!

Insanity is incredibly good for weight loss and tone. I will be diving back into Insanity, resistance training, and hot yoga to not only shape my body for a sheath backless dress, but to withstand the heat and play beach sports with my children for hours on end leading up to the event!

More importantly, I will have a clean eating regimen without any fasting, diets, or bride weight loss gimmiks as there is sure to be some little eyes watching as they fantasize about their  own "wedding day" and I want to send the right message!

These tips are awesome.  I've recently started doing the Turbo Fire dvd with Chalene from Beachbody and I love it.  I especially like the HIIT workouts.  I also been doing the green smoothies and I have so much more energy.  In addition to the dvds, I jog, use the kettlebell, do squats, sit-up, push-ups, etc......Trying to lose 20lbs, down 4, 16lbs to go.

  • 2 weeks later...

I am joining Weight Watchers on Wednesday. I am hoping to lose 20-25 pounds in 5-6 months. (before my dress gets in). I know people that have joined and it was successful for them. I don't exercise a whole lot. The extent of the exercise I like doing is walking in the evenings.

Have any of you ladies been on Weight Watchers?

I'm trying to run 2-3 days a week (up to 2.5 miles straight no stopping!) and doing Crossfit 2x a week.  I did 1 month of T25 (hurt my knees) and the first 30 days of Chalean Extreme/Turbofire hybrid which I'm taking a break while I get acclimated to Crossfit.

Well I have some time before our wedding but I've already started my weight loss journey. I officially started the beginning of this month but I started intermittently in end of April. So let's say since May I've lost 15 lbs. I'm basically just eating right - no junk food, soda. Lots of fruits and veggies. Counting calories helps me stay on track. I have an app for my iPhone that's amazing called myfitnesspal. I can scan foods or search for them. I can also add exercise into it! I try to work out as often as I can, it's been probably 1-2x/week right now because I'm still on night shift. When I switch to day shift next month it will be much easier to work out more often. I weigh myself weekly to help me stay motivated. Seeing the number go down keeps me on track :) And also picturing how I want to look on the beach is a huge motivator as well!

I'm training for a half marathon in October. Our wedding is September 28th so I'll have to keep my training plan while I'm there. I'm hoping it will help me lose the 20 I need gone by wedding. Need to lose 10 before I even shop for dress ????. Doing fitnesspal on my phone as well.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
