OOT gift bags (when you're not leaving the country; destination is another state)

Recommended Posts

I'm having a destination wedding except my location is another state within the U.S. I'm from Texas, but having my wedding in Panama City Beach, FL as most of our guests could not or would not fly overseas. I've searched the boards and found many wonderful OOT bags, but most of the contents I feel don't exactly apply to me. I can understand sunscreen, meds, etc when you're in another country, but this doesn't really transfer over to Florida. My wedding is in April 2013 so it's not exactly warm yet so sunscreen is out..guests readily have access to meds.

I was thinking welcome letter, directions to ceremony and restaurant, maybe some mini liquor bottles, snacks, but what else?
Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I get what you're saying but unless people are familiar with the area or a drugstore is within walking distance, I think at least some of the same things would apply?  Meds, band aids, etc.

That said, if you don't like that idea (which I get too!), here are some other things I'm including that you might like:  personalized playing cards, gum/mints, koozies, you could still do the key card holder for taking to the beach and stuff.  And i'm a big fan of making the bag a beach bag!

Definitely agree that welcome letter, directions, and love the liquor bottle idea.  I saw where someone did a voucher for a drink at their hotel pool bar (not an all inclusive, which i'm guessing yours isn't either) - also a cute idea.  Good luck!

Yes, I am planning on having some koozies made but my fiance thought the tylenol, band aids, toiletries, etc were a waste of money. There is a Walmart directly across the street and I know most of my guests will be going there for breakfast foods as the condos have full kitchens. Love the cards idea! Thanks!

Oh in that case I agree with you, people can easily get what they need.  Our condos have kitchens too, and I'm thinking I might throw a bag of microwave popcorn in each bag.

cups or tumblers!! guests will always be able to use these, either at your destination or at home!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
