Dreams Riviera Cancun 6-8-13!

Recommended Posts

Hello ladies! I am getting married June 8, 2013. I am very thankful for all of your posts on here but my emotions are up and down! One minute I'm reading not to stress that everything will be perfect, then I read another post that makes me stress! I have had my date set for over 6 months and haven't really put much thought into "planning" assuming everything will be taken care of closer to time, but I am starting to really think I will be behind and i do not want to plan everything at the last minute. I saw someone on here post that they received a packet for planning. Is this the case? My dad is my travel agent who is booking everyone's accommodations but it seems like I still have to do most of the planning with the coordinator. I did not receive any sort of planning materials. I have already sent out save the dates and invitations and most have already rsvp'd. We are planning to have roughly 60 guests. Our ceremony is at 5:30 pm at the gazebo and I am beginning to freak because I was informed there is another ceremony only one hr. prior to mine in the same location. Our reception is scheduled to be on the beach deck...looks nice but I am hearing mixed opinions. Any ideas for great cocktail hour locations? (If we decide to have one.) I have ordered my dress and am working on locating the perfect bridesmaid dresses. I do not want to take a bunch of things for decoration and I am wondering if what the hotel offers is good enough? I am also hearing a lot of mixed opinions on the hotel photographer and salon. Please let me know what you have experienced. I do not want to pay for or deal with hiring outside vendors so using what the hotel offers would be great, but not if it is not good quality. I know this is a lot but I have a lot on my mind and a million other questions to ask so please if you have any answers or words of encouragement please post back.

Congrats kndrashltn ! + welcome to our forum community! yes, lots of decisions and plans to make - but that's all part of the fun journey leading to your most wonderful Big Day!  You'll find  tons of great advice, info + support here, so you're already off to a great start - well done :)

As for using the resort photographer - our advice (based on yrs of experience and brides' feedback) is that you'll be much happier with the results you'll get from one of the numeorus professional photographers in our area.

After all the time + energy you spend on planning + creating your perfect wedding, it's pretty important to have the photo record of it showing your wedding story in its' best possible depiction.

That takes a professional - who has the experience, training, equipment + most of all.... Interest ...in making that so !

Our brides - who have chosen to spend the extra to hire a professional photographer - are always so happy to have made that excellent choice!

Wishing you all the best with your research + planning process, and that you have the perfect wedding of your dreams! Enjoy :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
