Which are the most difficult colors to choose for your wedding?

Recommended Posts

Putting color on your wedding could be a delighful experience or a big nightmare.

It is not only a matter of choosing your favorite color and put it everywhere and everything for your wedding.

one single color can turn into so many tones and values.

one color could look differently in paper, fabric, flowers, and even the backround.

So as for wedding decor...from my experience and from all brides I have worked with, I gather some ideas and comments of all of them.

Difficult colors to use for your wedding.

1. Black.

If black is one of your themed colors, be carefull on how you use it, otherwise it could be scary. On the contrary, if you use it in the right way, you will have great results, here some samples

2. Coral

It is a lovely color, but be careful, because for some people coral means peachy pinkish values and for some others means a creamy orange, almost like salmon. And believe it or not for some others coral means a very intense red...after all there is a huge variety or corals under the sea, right?, so if coral is one of your themed colors, just make sure to communicate what kind or coral is the one you have in mind, otherwise linens will be one tone, bridesmaids dresses will be other, invitation others, flowers others.

Here some samples of coral colors I have asked to do before

almost red coral.

3. Blue

Blue is a fabulous color. It could be either navy blue, royal blue, brilliant blue, turquoise blue, baby blue, you name it.

But there are 2 things you should take care when choosing blues are:

  a. As for natural flowers exact tone of blue is trully difficult to bring, so be open to have different blues in your flowers or ask your florist to spray them with floral spray...

  b. In a destination wedding area as Cancun and the Riviera maya, the most beautiful turquoise blue you will have is the blue of the sea. There is no fabric, no flower, anything that is exactly as that color, so it is better to pop up the only and real fabulous turquoise blue of the sea. here some examples

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
