Best place to create a wedding website?

Recommended Posts

Any idea if any of these sites allow you to keep the domain name for longer than a year. Our wedding is 17 months away, but I want to get started. The only thing is I don't want to loose it 5 months prior to the big day.

I used Wedding Window too. It's user friendly and has a lot of options.

I just started using WeddingLovely (www.weddinglovely.com). It's a paid subscription ($14.95 per month or $79 one time), but it's worth it to me for two reasons. One is that I really wanted to coordinate the website with my colors and fonts. Tracy, the owner, has been so accommodating. She created an entirely new template for me to match my invites and save-the-dates! I'm so happy with it (here's the link, we're still in the early stages of adding content: www.weddinglovely.com/saraandbrian). The other reason is that I'm starting our planning really early, and I didn't want to pay for the subscription for multiple years (the subscriptions on other sites seemed to be by year). Anyway, I've been extremely happy with WeddingLovely and Tracy and couldn't recommend her enough.

I think it depends on the website.  I'm using WeddingWire.com.  It's free and I haven't encountered any hidden fees.  I chose it because I really like the design template which matched my wedding colors and theme.  It also has a helpful checklist and guest planner.  I believe they make money from ads on the general site but there aren't any on my website.  Oh, I almost forgot.  You can pay a fee for a private, customized domain name.  I didn't bother with it.

I am using the website to get information about accommodations and travel to my guests.  A few have never traveled out of the country so I include a page to tell them how to get passports and what to expect when they go through Customs in Mexico.  I also made it fun by adding music to some of the pages.

There are many options and you can make it as simple or as complicated as you like.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
