Wedding at Riu Palace Cabo - new wedding coordinator?

Recommended Posts

I'm getting married 8/17/13 at the Riu Palace!

I've read some nasty threads on the wedding coordinator I was allocated.. She has been terrible to me too, will not reach out to me and will not respond to my emails! I booked the Riu 3 weeks ago and no one will get back to me about pricing.

Can someone suggest a better wedding coordinator for the Riu? I'm going to reach out to corporate and get another one.

Thanks!

My wedding coordinator is Kylene...I guess its too soon to say whether she is good or bad since they really wont talk to you until 2 months before the wedding...that's why this forum is so helpful! I can email you the pricing info someone sent to me if you PM your email address to me...not sure if it will change by August or not....

It's not your wedding coordinator's fault, it is policy to not correspond with brides earlier than 2 months before the wedding. The resort hosts so many weddings per week, it is unrealistic to expect them to correspond with every bride booked for that year. If you reach out to corporate I don't think you'll have much luck with whatever it is that you are hoping for, and what's worse, you could be getting this WC in trouble or putting her job in jeopardy. My advice is to sit back and enjoy that you don't have to go through the months and months of crazy planning that normal brides have to.

You can search the photos on this site that were uploaded by a member of the resort. I would suggest contacting the resort to get the most up to date price list. The prices I have are for 2012 and there was probably a price for 2013.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
