Sandals Reception Tables!!!

Recommended Posts

Hey Girls,

I have 10 people coming to our wedding including us, and they are telling me we have to get an extra table because their tables only fit 8. they also said it has to be a round table, and if we want a rectangular one we will have to pay extra.  They will give us two round tables, but they will have to butt them up against each other.  I don't want the tables to be separated because I want everyone to be close together for an intimate dinner, not divided and separated.  Any one else have this problem for 2 extra table settings?!  I also was told I had to pay $18 for 3 votives, I was planning on bringing my own, did any one find that bringing candles in was easy to get away with?

Thanks for your help, only 28 days to go!

I have this same issue, having two extra people. I asked if there was any way possible to get a sweetheart table for us (Bride & Groom) to avoid having 6 empty seats, but my WC said this wasn't an option. I think it's really silly to pay for another table when we're having the cocktail our for our reception and people won't necessarily be sitting the whole time, but then again I don't want to seem like we were to cheap to pay for enough tables..

You are able to bring whatever decorations you want!!! If you take you own candles they will allow you to use them, they just dont tell you up front you can do that b/c as they are, its about the money. Once you arrive at the resort and meet with your coordinator its more laid back and they are willing to do what they can to make you happy.

We had 35 people there for our wedding so we planned a formal sit down dinner party for the "rehearsal dinner" the night before. They were very accomodating & everything was set up and included for us, due to the size of our party.

We got married on the beach (Jillie, check out the beach in the back near the Garden & butler suites- its perfect & seccluded), then we had our reception hour in the garden. It was decorated with hanging lanterns, lights, we had a DJ, an open bar ,and cake table setup. Our guests watched us do the first dance, we cut the cake, did speeches, danced and had a great time!! Very fun...after our hour was all met at Cricketers Pub and finished the nite there. It was a blast!. I also brought my own Swarovski crystal letter "B" cake topper and rhinestone ribbon for the bottom of each tier and they had no problem adding my elements to the cake.

We used the flutter of romance alter and white chairs. That was it. We also did a sand ceremony so that was set up to the side and part of the ceremony. We had custom koozies made for everyone there that were placed on the chairs before the ceremony!! We then used hanging lanterns for the reception

I am finding your posts very helpful! I was just wondering if you wouldn't mind sharing what the reception you're describing cost? I am expecting approx the same amount of people. Also, you were able to get a free reception dinner? Please advise :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
