Gran Caribe Real 2014 Brides

Recommended Posts

Oh wow thats awesome... Do you mind giving me your TA information? Maybe through a private message? Maybe its just my ravel agent.. the rates she was giving me were horrible. I was getting better deals on Expedia! Thank you for all the info!

Oh cool! Yea havent seen to much info on how good SPAZUL is with hair and makeup. Im worried about the humidity out there. Wouldn't want my face to melt off or hair get frizzy ;)

I know what you mean, my aunt got married last year and they offered wayy more discounts than GCR does. She had 110 people at her wedding, im having around the same amount.

If you search for Gran Caribe Reviews...you will find brides that reviewed the Spa among everything else. Most brides seemed happy with the Spa. Most loved their makeup and were happy with their hair even though it may not have looked exactly like the picture they provided.

i hear the spa is good! i would definetely have a trial the day before just in case (i think thats $60)

but you dont have another option unless:

1) you pay $350 fee for a make up artist to come

2) or go out of the resort to get it done in a salon

I also heard that if you book through apple vacations they give you nighst for free if you have a min of rooms booked through them.. not sure if thats true.

@@kwink did you get better rates than the actual resort gave you?

they still dont have any rates for my feb 2015 wedding.. :(

My package is the catholic one but i think it only includes an upgrade :(

Hi ladies! So in regards to the $350 outside vendor fee...just last month there was a bride who got married at GCR and even though she herself brought in the real flowers from an outside florist, they still charged her the outside vendor fee.  It's true that initially, some brides were able to bypass the fee by doing this, but it seems that now the resorts are really clamping down on this. Basically, even if your florist never sets foot on the resort, if you have real flowers that you did not get from the resort, you will get the fee.  We are not happy with this, but even with the outside vendor fee, we are getting a great deal on our flowers so it is what it is.

Also, I've seen nothing but great reviews on this forum about Spazula's hair and makeup so I wouldn't worry about that; I have a TON of hair, very thick too, and I'm not in the least worried, but I'm still doing a hair and makeup trial a few days before just so that we can try out a couple of things and see what works the best :) The only thing I'm not sure about is the extent of their nail services; I want to know if they do Shellac because my decision on what to do with my nails will really depend on that.  Since we are less than a month away from our big day, we have been transferred to our on-site coordinator and I've already bombarded her with that question and a few others :)

My only other concern right now is being able to speak with the minister that will be doing our ceremony because I want to know exactly how the ceremony will go; my FI and I are catholic and would have had a catholic wedding at the chapel, but my fiance's annulment is taking forever to get approved so we won't be able to do it in time, therefore, we are having a non-denominational ceremony at the gazebo and I really have no idea what to expect as far as a non-catholic wedding ceremony goes.  Anyone who has thoughts on this and can provide guidance would really be appreciated!! Thanks!!

See pictures under image gallery, destination wedding photos, Gran Caribe Real Resorts MX.  That will show you pictures I took when I was there on June 5th 2013.  (Reception & Venue locations)

your flowers were beautiful~! did you order bouquets AND centerpieces? do you mind sharing how much were those? it seems that the cheapest bpouqtes through resort is $100 and centerpieces $80 at least the ones we like (the least expensive) and boutonnieres $300 (the least expensive ones) this turns out to be like more than $1k :(

is that a regular budget for flowers?

@@katiehenderson... We pretty much all booked through expedia.com... super easy and way cheaper.

Was also wondering what peeps are doing for decorations on the terrace? I ordered white lanterns for the guest tables, and am thinking that I want to keep it simple... maybe I'll have some vases for my little bridal party's bouquets? Which brings me to another question: Is anyone ordering their bouquets through the resort? I only have two bridesmaids and myself, but don't want anything too extravagant.  In the Royal Catholic Wedding package, I get one of the standard bouquets, but do they have anything smaller for my bridesmaids, or will their's be the same as mine?

the cheapest bouquets that they have is $100 each :s

Hello ladies, how are you decorating the terrace? do you know if we can put some sort of LED lanterns hanging around? I did not see any poles around that they can hang them.. :(

I'm wondering the same thing. Also, has anyone heard anything about hair and makeup at the hotel? Are they any good?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
