When did you ladies start looking into flowers? I'm getting married in May 2014 and want to book Maya Floral, but it's taking them awhile to reply. I'm thinking he prioritizes the weddings for this year. Am I just planning too early??

Hello Meowybells I started to looking this month. The resorts prices are too high, although my coordinator said she will try to work with my budget. I am looking for tall centerpieces and prices are much more than I expected (being its Mexico)  I also contacted Maya Floral and got a response that same day, we are also working on prices and floral arrangements for my wedding in August 2014. Try contacting Marvin hes been great at responding back. marvin@mayafloral.com

It was a headache to get all my guests to commit to certain dates, so I opted out. I just went ahead and found a TA who gave me better rates than Expedia.
This way my guests can customize their own trip, and I don't have to bug people about booking certain dates.

The only advantages I saw was having the TA "block rooms" for your guests so you are together in a certain area of the hotel, and savings you get from the group rate.

Yes I am in the same boat I feel like it would be a headache to get everyone to commit to days so far ahead and I'm honestly just not sure that it is worth the extra money.

@katiehenderson I did not go through a TA. I found that booking through expertise would help my guests save about 800 dollars a couple compared to the prices I was given by agents. Having a TA is great if you think that you can get a whole bunch of guests to stay for a predetermined amount of time, and can pay a deposit in advance. I just find it so much easier to let your guests book their own trip... and they really won't mind

So you booked your hotel stay through expedia and not the hotel and saved that much money?!

I have to second this...all of my guests so far have found awesome rates on expedia, and even though we do have a TA, if her quotes were more than what they found on expedia, she would honor the expedia rates as long as the guest put down a deposit with her that day.  But yeah, pretty much any rates you find are way better than the rates the hotel gives you

Hi Ladies, just booked my wedding at GRC for Saturday, August 9, 2014!!!! Our ceremony will take place in the Chapel at 4pm followed by Cocktail by the beach and Reception in the ballroom. We expect about 70 guests. My WC is Diana Rodriguez... she has been pleasant so far. Her communication is pretty regular (she seems pretty busy)... the longest she has not responded has been about 5 days.

I am also thinking about having my reception in the terrace- what are you doing for the decorations? the flowers seem very expensive in the catalog... what about DELSOL? how many hours are you booking them? I only wanted to pay max of $2k but is this realistic?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
