Gran Caribe Real 2014 Brides

Recommended Posts

Hey there Gals! And Congrats!

I'm having my wedding at GCR 6/13/2014.

I'm nervous as heck. I don't know what to expect. My family and friends are staying there as well. What are some of the bad reviews you guys have read?

I'm having Catholic/luxury wedding. Ceremony in the chapel at 5pm, reception 6-7 on terrace, then moving reception to the ballroom.

Has anyone had their's in the ballroom?

I'm hoping that that they can set it up nicely and not look plain and boring.

It is now February and it's right around the corner. I'm freaking out. =/

I've read some stuff about the ceremony. About the lasso, the candle and the coins

We I have to provide all of that?

Any info helps. Thanks in advance.

 COngrats!!!

I personally like the ballroom (its our plan B in case it rains)

I think it will be nice if you decorate it with flowrs or DYI center pieces :)

You do not have to do the lasso and coins etc... just let them know you dont want to do that. if you do , then you have to provide that.

Keep us updated and post pictures! hope its beautiful!

I'm wondering the same thing. Also, has anyone heard anything about hair and makeup at the hotel? Are they any good?

i read on this page that the AZUL spa is good!.. i suggest to make a search on it and book them in advance.. I know my mom and future mother in law will go with me to get make up/hair done. I will check with my bridesmaids but not so sure.. i think they can only take 3 at a time.

good luck :) i really hope for some insight to the decorations!

I have a question about that rooming list document we have to fill out and send to our WC 60(?) days before the wedding. What if you booked through Expedia? And lots of my guests booked online e through different websites. They don't really give you a hotel booking confirmation number. Heck I don't even know my own hotel booking confirmation number. I've looked through receipts and itineraries, and have only seen my Expedia reservation code.

Anyone else not use a TA and have the same dilemma?

Hi SinhSinh

I'm getting married on June 21, 2014 soo excited less that 4 months and nervous as well.

Did you have to pay extra for having your reception in two different places?

i think she means that the cocktail reception will be at the terrace (6-7) and then the party will be in doors (for 3- up until 1?)

so you can have these different options if you book a coctail reception :)

My question is because I have the same luxury package... my wedding is at the chapel at 4pm, followed by the cocktail hour on the beach (just beside the chapel) and then the reception at "Villas Terrace"  I was told that my cocktail hour was by ceremony location or reception location and If I wanted another location I have to pay extra...

I wanted to stay longer than 9pm for my reception but I don't want to do it inside :(

Unfortunitely, depending on the months you cant have your reception past 9pm on the terrace because of the turtle laying season. We are having ours in a ballroom, the terrace is beautiful but id rather have the reception go longer for our guests. =)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
