Currently I'm in contact with Marvin from Maya Floral because his prices are a bit better than the resorts also his arrangements are beautiful. I feel like the months are flying by me and August will be here any minute!!

Hello! do you have to pay any fees for using Marvin? what about any other photgrapher that you use?

@katiehenderson... We pretty much all booked through expedia.com... super easy and way cheaper.

Was also wondering what peeps are doing for decorations on the terrace? I ordered white lanterns for the guest tables, and am thinking that I want to keep it simple... maybe I'll have some vases for my little bridal party's bouquets? Which brings me to another question: Is anyone ordering their bouquets through the resort? I only have two bridesmaids and myself, but don't want anything too extravagant.  In the Royal Catholic Wedding package, I get one of the standard bouquets, but do they have anything smaller for my bridesmaids, or will their's be the same as mine?

Hi everyone! I'm getting married at Gran Caribe Real in May 2014. I was wondering about the private reception. They told me for a private reception it was $15 per person for the people staying at Gran Caribe. Does anyone know if this $15 includes the set up (tables, chairs, white table cloths, silverware, plates, ext) & the food? Or is is $15 per person PLUS the price of the food?

My WC said $15 includes the venue and set up ( tables, chairs, etc) and a 3 course meal (appetizer, main, dessert) .

If you want a 4 course (soup, salad, main, dessert), it will be an additional $10.

I requested a to have 2 entree options (no extra charge), that way my guests have a choice between chicken or beef.

That said, I'm still on the fence about having a plated dinner or having a buffet. Plated dinner seems more formal which I like, and the guests get buffet all the time at the resort. BUT! the buffet has a lot more options and variety.

I would assume the $15 includes setup, plates, white table cloths etc.  I bought a package and I know that the fee includes everything for the reception (4 course meal, white linens, plates, service, etc) and if I go above the 40 included in the package I pay by the person but it covers everything.

Since i am going to have a pretty huge amount of guests coming of about 100, I loved the outdoor terrace but I dont want the reception to end at 9PM. I booked DELSOL photography their work is AMAZING.  I also wanted to book DJ Doremixx because of the good reviews Ive read so far. How are your plans coming along?

did you find DEL SOL pretty pricey?

Hi Catlicardenas, That was one issue my Fiance and i had about them. They are very pricy for being in Mexico, but after looking at other companies and not really "loving" their work, I always went back to DelSOL portfolios. I love their work and i told my Fiance that photo is something i really want to spend money on because pictures are super important to me.

Hello ladies! Can anyone recommend a floral company? I have tried Maya Floral as well and their prices are way over my budget, im wondering if there are any other companies that do a great job but are less expensive and more helpful than Maya floral.

Thank you and happy planning! =)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
