I'm working with Estela as my wedding coordinator. I am finding things to be going well so far. I have reserved DJ Doremixx :). I am still trying to decide on a photographer! We will be getting married on the beach at 4 then a cocktail hour in the gazebo and dinner reception just off the gazebo. Just trying to figure out all the other details now like flowers and centrepieces and decorations. Looking forward to following all the upcoming 2014 GCR and Royal brides !!!!

Hello Congratulations!!! I just decided to book my wedding at GCR August 2014.  Just getting some information and Thank God for this website:smile29:
is helping me so much...At first I was unsure of having my wedding in Cancun but is actually a vacation and spending time with my close friends and family just hoping everything goes well.  My wedding compare to others is very simple just about 25-30 close friends and family. I need to decide on a photographer! so much to do....

Congratulations to All Fabulous Ladies out there!!!

We did book a DJ, we just thought it would be easier on us with one less thing to worry about. Plus we heard so many great things about DJ Doremixx.

Looks like I will see you there! We will be there for 11 days. We gave approximately 60 guests going about half booked already. Splitting btwn the royal and gcr

How exciting! We too have about 50 guest already booked and a few more still booking. All my guest will be at GCR cause it's a big family crowd. We will be staying there for 10 days!

Since i am going to have a pretty huge amount of guests coming of about 100, I loved the outdoor terrace but I dont want the reception to end at 9PM. I booked DELSOL photography their work is AMAZING.  I also wanted to book DJ Doremixx because of the good reviews Ive read so far. How are your plans coming along?

So far everything is coming together nicely! We booked PlayaWeddings for our Photo+Video, and also booked the ballroom because we were expecting a lot of guest as well. (Also by FI did not want to be dancing outside because of the heat. lol) As soon as I told my WC that I wanted to book DJ Doremixx she was quick with a response and they contacted me immediately. Currently I'm in contact with Marvin from Maya Floral because his prices are a bit better than the resorts also his arrangements are beautiful. I feel like the months are flying by me and August will be here any minute!!

Well I have been stalking the 2013 thread for a solids 3 days and I have learned a lot on out the resort. I am planning to book there October 21, 2014. Did any or all of you decide to use a travel agent for you and your guests?
Hi! I used a TA, but didn't get a group rate. To avail of the group rate, a number of your guests have to make a deposit ahead of time (you have to book 10 rooms on average). It was a headache to get all my guests to commit to certain dates, so I opted out. I just went ahead and found a TA who gave me better rates than Expedia. This way my guests can customize their own trip, and I don't have to bug people about booking certain dates. The only advantages I saw was having the TA "block rooms" for your guests so you are together in a certain area of the hotel, and savings you get from the group rate.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
