Cake was  made by Gran Caribe Real Resort (I brought my own wedding topper). There's also a picture of the menu. All the food was good, especially the sea food soup. That was so yummy. If I could change things, I would of added some vegetables to the main course.

Thanks for sharing your pictures Monicamb!!! I love your wedding topper! where did you get it? Are the flowers at the chapel from Maya Floral as well??

Hello everyone! First, I want to say thank you for all of your suggestions and feedback, it has helped a great deal!! My FI and I are looking to get married June 2014, and we would like to have pictures with the ocean in the background and still be able to have pictures during sunset. I am concerned about timing as our agent is suggesting 6pm as it is a cooler time of the day and she said the ceremony only lasts about 25-30 minutes. Does anyone have any feedback regarding this timing of the ceremony? Thank you!!

I had a catholic ceremony at the chapel at 4pm with the harpist and resort videographer, then a private cocktail hour and reception at the albatros terrace following the ceremony. I had DJ Doremixx and Sascha Gluck was my photographer. (everything else was through the resort or I brought myself) My wedding coordinators were Katia and Elizabeth. We had about 30 guests (half staying at the Gran Caribe and half staying at The Royal). Everything turned out perfect for me! It was the wedding of my dreams!! Let me know if you have any questions! Happy planning :)

Hello:  I am plainning my wedding at the Gran Caribe Real next year in August, 2014:worried2:.  I'm so happy that I found this website to help me with my fears and fustrations..it's been overwhelming for me...  I'm a family of 5 and 3 kids so I need a resort that it was family oriented.  I spoke with Katia (wedding coordinator) and so far she has been very help. But, if you dont mind can you please give me some info from you would be very help for me.  So far the reviews I read has giving me a piece of mind.  This was the only place I requested information from and within 1 hour I received a phone call from Katia which I truly thought it was amazing.  I sent so many wedding proposals from Punta Cana etc and never got a response so quick like Gran Caribe Real coodinator.  Can you please send me your experience it will help me tremendously....:-

Thank you so much!!!

At least you have a choice to stay at the Royal...How about when you have kids and cant stay at the Royal and have no choice but to stay at the GC.  Is very depressing...:'( but it was the only place that the wedding coordinator contacted me immediately.  The prices was not to beat any other resort.  I was happy but then reading the negative reviews I got very discouraged...

Hi!

I'd like to ask if you picked your own songs for the harpist to play, or did they have a song list you have to pick from?

Cheers!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
