Daily Health Challenge (Spark, WW, everyone!)

Well I haven't done anything! But I did go to WW this week and I lost a pound - yay! So that feels good. I'm going out of town this weekend and I think this loss will help me keep it in check - I don't want to gain after working pretty hard to lose!

But a few great things came from this thread - namely I have gotten back into the habit of drinking water during the day which is good for weightloss but also good for skin, organs and just staying healthy in general. And I think I've been doing better on my food (hence the loss in weight). My new thing is splitting my lunch into two parts. I eat a large 1.5 WW point (so say 75 calories for non-WW) for lunch around 12/1pm. Then at like 3pm when I',m hungry again I heat up a frozen 6 point (say 300 cal) meal. This helps me a lot because I'm primarily hungry starting in the afternooon.

I haven't been exercising at all - I know it's bad sad.gif I need to start! But I just find it so hard to motivate. Especially because I'm writing freelance at home in the evenings (excuses, excuses!). But I want to do it. My friend found a studio thhat has dance/exercise classes for beginners so I thought that might be a fun thing to try!

Kash - did you post something? It says you did, but I'm not seeing it. I'm writing this post to see if it will show your post and then this one. Let's see.

Edit - ok, I see it now.

Keep it up Kash. You're doing something right if you're losing weight. Don't worry too much about the not exercising. Apparently whatever you're doing is working for you.

Ok, so I worked out again last night. That make 4 times this week. WHOOOO HOOOO!!!! I did some arm weights, crunches and attempted the hula hoop again. (Why am I not getting ithuh.gif?)

So, you all know that I lost 8 pounds back in August on Nutrisystem and I've managed to maintain it. I randomly put on 2 pounds and then take them off. It's a vicious cycle. For some reason I haven't been able to take off any more weight. Anyway, I'm proud to say that as of this morning, I have finally lost another half pound, making my total weight loss 8.5 pounds. FINALLY!!!! I know my goal was to loss another 8 pounds this month (and I doubt I'll loss 7.5 pounds by Wednesday) but at least I'm going in the right direction. YIPPEE!!!!

I like the ideas for November challenges. Checking in somewhere with my exercise keeps me motivated. I have worked out about 4 times a week for the past 2-3 weeks. Part of it is I am working out of town and my "real life" doesn't distract me as much. when the other option is sitting in a hotel room, suddenly working out isn't such a terrible thing.

I haven't worked out this much in awhile. I don't know if I have lost any weight but I am feeling better for it. Baby steps. cheer2.gif

Way to go ladies! I've been working out, but we've had some bad eating challenges this week. We went out to dinner Friday night to the Melting Pot - a fondue restaurant. Needless to say, that was a BIG cheat day. But, we'll see what happens on Wednesday. I don't think I lost the 5 lbs I had planned on this month, but I might be close.

I am starting back up at the gym this week though and hopefully we get back on track! I need to prep for wedding dress shopping and I dont want to feel huge when I go do that!!

I went to the gym today, but I was honestly exhausted. I did my strength training and 20 min on the treadmill, which is about half of what I usually do. Tomorrow I will try to do better, but I'm working until 3am tonight and then have an appointment to look at houses tomorrow (woohoo!). Hopefully I'll fit some gym time in so that I don't cry on Wedsnesday when I get on the scale. I also really need to avoid the sodium. I've been CRAVING salt lately.

I haven't been able to get on the forum to check in. Here is my update from the weekend.

I did the treadmill for an hour on Saturday (burned 750 calories.) I also did some crunches. But then my left knee started bothering me. I actually stayed home sick yesterday so I could ice it. It would hurt anytime I bent it. It's a little better today. I'm not sure if it's from working out or if I banged it (yet I don't remember banging it.) So, I haven't worked out since. I tried to be good with my calories but I think I went a little overboard this weekend. I haven't weighed myself since Saturday but I will tomorrow to see how I ended up doing this month.

So let's say October was the "get back into it" month. Now that we're all back on track, let's make realistic goals for November. I want to lose 10 pounds in November. I know that's a lot. But if I watch what I eat and workout 4 to 5 times a week, it's do-able.

That sounds great. I haven't weighed myself so I have no idea if I have been successful or not. But even if I haven't lost weight yet, I do feel better because I am working out. I think I may still stick to a 5 lb goal though. 10 pounds sounds hard! lol

I didn't do very well this weekend. I kind of decided to ditch the diet for the weekend. But now it's back on. Elliptical for 40 minutes yesterday and 1 hour of yoga this morning. woohoo.

Ok so I was out of town this weekend at a wedding and then at a wedding party thrown for us by Dan's parents and as you can imagine I ate SO SO SO SO SO SO SO much food! So I'm sure I've gained back that 1 pound probably plus some! Anyway it's about to be November. On November 23rd i have my ten year HS reunion. I would be over the top delighted if I could lose 5 pounds by then... So here we go again!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
