I think the dress is beautiful and you look beautiful in it.  Don't change it.

I bought my dress back in September and it just came in so I went to try it on. I really like it, I just see so many flowy, plain dresses that I like and feel like would suit me better. What do you guys think? Is this dress too formal/got too much going on for a beach wedding? I only tried on a few dresses before buying this one, so maybe I'm just freaking out now that the wedding's closer and I haven't yet lost those 15lbs I was planning on dropping :)

Hey Cokonlove, I had a different wedding date of March 2013. When I went dress shopping in April they told me it would take the designer 8 months to produce the dress. I guess it depends on who is making the dress but the window of time to shop varies for each bride so don't be scared! But try to book an appointment soon- just in case you fall in love with a dress and they tell you it takes a long time to make. They told me some brides feel a year is too soon but the more time on your side the better because you have more options. Plus- it definitely was my favorite part of the process. We went to a Sunday sangria brunch to celebrate after! Some brides get anxiety over dress shopping. My fiend has been twice and says she hasn't seen anything she likes, so giving yourself ample time Is best.

I just went early because me, my bm, moh and both moms all live in different places, and we could all be in one place last weekend, which is extremely rare. I had just intended to start looking, figuring I would look now, and then again in a few weeks I could go on my own if need be... no rush. Well, then it turns out that the sample sale gown I had on was phenomenal!

So, I had not intended to buy so early... but it certainly looks like I will be!

Ok. Love this dress! That skirt is amazing! As for the veil, I think it would work, but I think it also depends on how you'll have your hair, and also your height. Don't ask me why height matters, but I'm 5'1 and when I put a veil on it made me look so so short! Visually it didn't work

lol. Thanks!

I was thinking the same thing. I think what sets us apart as brides here is that we are doing what fits us best. In terms of wedding locations and not trying to fit in with the norms. That seems to transition to the dresses that are on here as well.

Yes it is around the corner. I'm excited. But I swear I feel like I'm not completely prepared. lol

Nothing worse than an ill fitting dress. A lot of times the styles we think look good on us don't and its better to let go of preconceived notions and go with what suits our shape and personality.

Congrats to all the gorgeous brides on finding the one...twice in life lol

Thanks for the advice.  I am that bride with the anxiety of a wedding dress because I went to one store and was just looking at dresses in a bag and started having heart palpitations...lol!!!!  I will make an appointment to go very soon.   I just wanted to get my save the dates out in the mail.  I guess I can stop stalling now.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
