Okay....I will be honest I have been really reluctant to post a picture of the dress I bought because I was afraid if everyone didn't like it. i am going to be brave and post it! I know it looks nothing like a traditional wedding gown (it's a prom dress, actually) but when I put it on it fit my curves perfectly!  We originally only tried on the dress to see what the shape would look like but then i fell in love! :) It's sexy, fun, and dramatic! I can't wait to post pics of me in the dress! And of coarse, I will be detaching the bottom for the reception! :)

HERE is my dress!! I started looking for dresses in August and tried on 4 dresses at Davids Bridal.....this was my first time even looking at dresses.......i was looking for 4 specific things: Sweetheart neckline, mermaid, vintage looking lace, brings out all the right curves......and i found that in the first dress i tried on! i couldnt believe it. I didn't even go to the store with the intentions of liking anything nevermind falling inlove with it! Here are a few pics of the dress.....pictures do not do it justice!! I LOVE IT! '  and i need ZERO alterations! its like heaven lol

The dress is by Oleg Cassini

This dress is BEAUTIFUL!!!!  So very classy and flattering on you.  Sexy too!!!  Great choice!

The dress looks fabulous on you!! it can't be anymore perfect than it is, considering that it fits like a glove and you don't need alterations.

Go for it!  That's what's awesome about a DW - you can be as un-traditional as you want (unless of course your mother fights you every step of the non-traditional way like mine is)

Thanks to all the ladies for the nice words of encouragement! My mom and future MIL def. fought it in the begining, but my  sister helped to remind me that it is my wedding and I should just go for it if this is what I want. I am going with a birdcage veil and with the flowers I am hoping it will look more "bride-y" :)  This forum is so great!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
