Show us your wedding dress!

Attention girls! This is Sarah hijacking this first thread to update...

I'm in the process of going through and deleting all the miscellaneous "chit chat" in this thread. Some of this is really old, and the older members will remember the 30 pages of Kash getting her Scarlet, me agonizing over my second dress, etc. Well, it's time to let go of the past! I'm trying to make this thread have just one pic of our dresses- not the 45 comments that follow telling us how wonderful we look. Hopefully this will make this thread a little more fun to go through!

Please see this link for help in posting pictures, posting your photos IN the thread is much better then posting a link or attachment...

***Click here for FAQ's and to learn how to work this forum***

Also, keep in mind that if you delete the photos from your photobucket account, the links in the threads will no longer work.

I am have cleaned up most of the chit-chat on this thread, and will work on adding photos where there are currently links or attachments. If you notice your dress is gone, it is probably b/c the link/photo was no longer valid. Feel free to add it back!

Update 12/18/09 by Carly

Hey ladies, I'm cleaing up this thread again. Please be sure to post the actual photos in here and not the link! Some of the newbies can't open links, so it's really helpful to upload the photos!!

All comments (posts w/o pictures or links) were deleted up thru November 2009. Start here to delete comments on next clean up - http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ml#post1087853 (page 13, post 501)

Adding pictures to links still needs to be completed.

This is what I wore. I bought it in a very pale blue but apprently it is not in that color anymore. I got it at David's Bridal for $150.

I was worried about posting photos of my gown on the old site because I think my fi is a member, but I highly doubt he made it over here ....

Here's my dress. We're still shopping for my MOH's dress, but it's definitely going to be aqua/pastel blue color. Tammy - did you get your BM dresses on Bluefly.com??

Thanks for the other website Christa! I went shopping last night and could not find any jewelry, so I really appreciate the links!

My dress has some gold embroidery in it, so the gold was pretty much chosen for me. I'm actually not a huge fan of gold jewelry, I prefer silver so I think that's why I'm having a hard time choosing something. Everything I've seen in gold does not appeal to me as much as the silver toned jewelry.

Here's the dress in the Casablanca website. I'll post once I get pics of me in it this weekend. Funny story, I saw this dress in 3 different shops and every time I would try it on (with different people there) they would all LOVE it, yet I could not get myself to chose it. I kept saying... it's got gold embroidery AND ruffles?!? Yet I kept going back to it. So the 3rd time I tried it on, I fell in love with it.... Go figure!

Sorry took me long to post, I usually barely have time to post on the forum when I'm at work. Can you tell I'm totally slacking today??

    • Good afternoon, I wanted to inquire if anyone has or knows someone who got married at this resort. How was it? How are the coordinators? Packages that were chosen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.   Thanks.
    • Hi all! I know this is an old thread... but just in case there are other destination wedding brides out there with the same question, I thought I would answer! My guy and I live in Texas and just got our marriage license (yay!). We are getting married in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. The Dallas County clerk informed us that we can get our marriage license in Texas, bring it and a Texas-registered officiant to Mexico, have the ceremony in Mexico, then bring the marriage license back to Texas to file and it will be LEGAL in the US.  In  other words, we can legally get married in Mexico using our Texas marriage license and officiant (who is a family friend), then file the paperwork when we get home. Where it says 'county in which ceremony was performed' on the license, we just put in Playa del Carmen, Mexico and bam! Married :) I do not know if this is true for other states, but it is CONFIRMED for Texas! I suggest asking the clerk when you register for your marriage license. I am overjoyed that we can have a US-legal marriage in Mexico so our wedding date on our license will be the actual day! NO blood tests, or getting married before or after the trip required!
    • Every Bride spends a lot of time researching and worrying about her perfect wedding dress. While many Indian brides choose the traditional red colour for their bridal gown, a few of them find some different colours to wear on their special day. Here is a description of how to choose an Indian wedding dress that suits your skin tone. 1) Fair complexion: You can choose any shade of blue or bright shades of pink and red. In the shades of blue- select scuba blue or royal blue. Among other colours this season, you can pick up your dress in tangerine.   2) Wheatish complexion Just select those colours which bring out the warmth in your complexion. Some of the best options for you are tangy orange, saffron yellow, vibrant shades of red, mint green and hot pink.   3) Dusky complexion: If you have an olive skin tone, then you can pull off any rich and dark colour quite well. So, the colours like classic blue, marsala, burnt orange and brick red are just perfect for you. Also the metallic silver, gold and bronze will even flatter your face pretty well
    • I will be using the hPage Website Builder to create a free website for our wedding. I am planning to post wedding updates, wedding photos, wedding reminders, and wedding articles regarding our upcoming marriage there. For RSVP, I am using Facebook events since almost all we invited have facebook and it would be easier to get their "yes" or "no" confirmation there. In case anyone is interested as well here's their site: hPage Website Builder - https://www.hpage.com
