Thanks, Tammy. I agree - I love the sash! My FI is wearing a khaki-ish colored suit, so I think they will look even better together. Here is a pic of the sash (being bustled):

UPDATED: This is my TTD dress

Ok here's my dress....maybe. I bought this dress the week after I got engaged. One of the bridal shops in town had donated their discontinued styles to a local thrift store and one of my coworkers saw this dress and sent me in after it. It really does fit the "beach" theme well, with the blue beads on the bodice, but I just don't know if it's fancy enough for me. It was an $800 dress and I paid $99. So...tell me what you think. I'm tempted to just go dress shopping and find something that I LOVE, rather than this dress that I just "like". Of course, I think I loved this dress at first, but now that I've looked at some others I don't like this as much (Karla, I know what you mean!)

Sorry that the pics aren't so good. It's really hard to get this dress on by yourself because it laces up the back, and my puppy kept trying to get in the way (he's in the last picture- Loomis, the Jack Russell Terrier, 6 mo old).

Here is the dress:

This is the bodice with beading detail:

This pic shows the slit down the side. There is beading on the fabric inside the slit, kinda hard to see in the photo:

So this week I went to my hometown to visit my parents, and my MOH who was visiting her parents. We went dress shopping on Tuesday and I totally didn't think I would find anything. I have been in every store in Lansing and couldn't find anything that really jumped out at me as "the one". Well, I found it! It was the second dress I tried on. I knew as soon as I put it on that my search was finally over. It is totally different than anything I would have ever pictured myself wearing, it is so simple, but yet screams WOW when I have it on. I've never had a dress do that before.

I was really sad because I love the side gather style and the pick ups, but because I'm so short those dresses just don't look quite right on me. This dress it exactly what Jeff has described too, so I know 200% for sure that he will love it.

Sorry about the pics, it's so hard to get a good dress picture!

Close up of bodice detail. This is the only detail on the dress. Notice the top is champagne colored and the bottom is white.

I love my veil. It is as long as my dress and has scalloped beaded edging with a waist length blusher.

The back just has buttons all the way down and there is the same detailing as the front.

Oh, and thanks for letting me know the designer, also. I went to the Venus webpage and I found this:

I like the dress is kinda cool, but mostly what caught my attention is what she has on her head. I thought it was a fruit basket at first glance! LOL!

My dress was way more than I ever thougt I would pay. It is actually being made to fit me and it hasn't been started yet. I was waiting until after the holidays...hoping to loose a few pounds...yeah right!!! It is hard when you fall in love with a dress becasue you will compare it to every other dress you try on!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
