I was surprised that I ended up buying a "destination wedding dress" as I mostly preferred the more formal/traditional dresses.

Hi all bought my dress a couple of years back but due to a bereavement we cancelled! We've now decided on a DW, Just in the process of booking it!

 

Is red too OTT for a DW? ? Also saw this one.....

I'm so sorry to hear you had to cancel the the walk down the aisle the first time. Awful thing to have to go through! 

 

But yay for DW planning now!  Honestly I think a DW is one of the best  places to get away with wearing a red dress! I think it just means you have to be more careful with the color of the bridesmaid dresses which is not really a huge issue. The white dress is gorgeous too though. Its what you can envision yourself walking down the aisle in!

Thanks Everly X Our wedding will be just the two of us so no need to worry about colour clashes however just thinking about the brightness of the sun on the red dress! X

@@maybeoneday I'm so glad you're able to start planning your dream wedding after a difficult time. I agree with @@Everly if you are going to do something non-traditional a DW is the best place to do that. I had a friend who wore red to a traditional church wedding too and it was gorgeous. Her husband's face was priceless!
