Happy planning to all! So I finally went dress shopping today for the first time. My wedding is in march of 2014 so I was told I did not have much time. I had this totally different idea of what I wanted to be in and I ended up getting a mermaid with lace on top and a tulle skirt. As soon as I put it on I felt like a bride and started to tear. But walked out and said that I would not commit. My family said that it looked nice but was too much and they wanted to see me in a sexy dress so the two after were Greek goddess looking dresses with lots of bling!

Continued to go back to the dress that I felt like a bride in (if this is how it is suppose to feel?) and I bought it. It was 900 and I could have them remove the puffy part (tulle) under the skirt. So I got it!!!!! But now I am second guessing my self saying that I should have tried on more and I can't sleep... So I am up writing!!!!

Does this usually happen?

This is the picture of my dress... I will have them remove the shoulder piece so that I can snap it on or off depending how I want to look. And remove the bottom

I have no idea why I am feeling like I made a mistake when I cried and felt like that was it....

I am also thinking of getting the sexy dress for my reception since I still have room in my budget and my fiancé said it was ok.

Thanks ladies any tips would really help right now!

I haven't started dress shopping yet but thought I would give you my opinion anyways.  If you felt like a bride and loved yourself in the dress don't second guess yourself.  There are tons of girls that shop around for a long time trying to get that feeling people get when they get the perfect dress and it seems like you already got it.  Some girls never get the feeling and end up settling for whatever is available.  I say enjoy your purchase.  Get excited, its your dress!  Now since you have a budget for the reception, go ahead and get something sexy, you can have the best of both worlds without compromising that feeling that most girls look for and cannot achieve.  I wish you peace of mind and happy planning!  I hope some of the other girls that have already purchase can give you their point of view.

I thinl the dress is gorgeous. I honestly wouldn't remove and change anything. If you tried it on and loved it.. its your dress. Don't let anyone not even family tell you how you should look and what type yku should if you do. You will regret that totally. Its natural to feel that way.

Hi Jenn, BEAUTIFUL DRESS! This dress has such a beautiful shape and simplicity to it and for that reason, I would say go without the bling. However, the bling is very nicely done, nicely placed so that it balances the dress and fits in the dress' design very naturally so going with the bling is a good option too! Love the flare at the bottom of the dress - my dress does that too though so I might be biased! ;) Good pick :)
I agree without !!!

NO!!! Keep it! It's gorgeous!!!!! It truly is beautiful. You're having dress regret, I had that too! My dress is the San Patrick Rivoli which is somewhat similar. Mermaid lace, not beachy at all. Once I tried it on again I fell in love just like the first time! I think when family isn't 100% on board, it makes us rethink our choices. My family was the same but in the end, it's your wedding and you need to love your dress, not your family. You don't want to regret not picking the dress you loved in 20 years! Be confident in your pick! :) Hope everything works out well!

I think your dress is beautiful as is. You should go with your gut. If you felt it was the dress than it is. Don't let other opinions tell you what you want. I am so sick of my family and friends telling me what type of dress goes with the beach and how I can't wear a traditional dress. I am going to wear what I want. You should too

@angelnjewels The dress is gorgeous! I had a similar situation, it's nor as if my family didn't like the dress I was in love with but it wasn't "beachy", and I should go for the greek goddess look, light, breezy, sexy, etc. I stood my ground and got the dress I was in love with. Needless to say afterwards I felt as though maybe I rushed it and had a feeling of buyers remorse. I bought a discontinued floor sample in my size so it's sitting in my closet now. When I pull my dress out of the closet, hang it up and look at it I get so happy and excited. All of the questioning goes away and I know I made the right decision. In regards to how I felt when I knew it was the one, there were no tears but I felt like a bride and wanted to keeo the dress on! I think everyone reacts a little different to their dress. I knew ir was my dress no matter what anyone else thought. My family does love it and know how happy I am with it!

I know what buyers remorse feels like. I was convinced into my dress by my mother and I constantly find myself staring at pics of myself in it and being like this is not my vision! But what can you do it's already bought (my mom paid for it) and altered. I just feel like I should have Zero doubt in my mind about it. I know it looks good on me but its just not what I had expected to be in...

happy planning to all!

If it's one thing that I've learned through the wedding planning process is that it is absolutely impossible to please EVERYONE!  So you just need to do what YOU want to do and what YOU like (with some consideration for the hubby-to-be of course!).  No matter who you ask for an opinion, they will all be different and do nothing but confuse you or even upset you at times.  The best advice/opinions I've gotten is from my new bdw family!

So glad that you decided on the dress you like!  Congratulations!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
