Show us your wedding dress!

Thanks Laura, Court and Tulumbride! It's nice to be able to show someone! It was the second dress I tried on and I thought it was missing something so I tried on more but kept comparing everything to this dress and the saleslady insisted I put it back on but this time she gave me a veil and bouquet and presto! Hence the cheesy grin haha. I am going to go with the Cathedral veil because we are getting married inside a church with the reception at the resort. So wind wise I should be ok. I'm also going to make a similar bouquet because the one I'm holding is $450 and I can make a nicer one for less, but it gave me the idea of having a jewelry bouquet as opposed to fresh flowers. I honestly did not think I would like this style. I walked right past it. My mother picked it up. I didn't even like it on the hanger but agreed to try it on. Guess mom knows best!

I bought my dress at a place called Bridal Reflections in Massapequa, Long Island. The dress was designed by their in house designer. His name is Angel something- I forget. They told me it would take 8 months to make. He made it in 4. It's already done and being held in a vault bc its way too soon to have in my house with my dog and Fiance. I'm going to inspect it tomorrow. thewave.gif Dress shopping by far has been the best part of the process!

So when she wasn't looking, I emailed them to myself lol. I look at my dress almost everyday, and No, I haven't showed the pics to anyone, but showing them on this forum should get it out of my system. I thought I had dress regret when I came on this forum and watched "Say Yes to the Dress" and other wedding shows, but the more and more I look at it, the more I realize I picked the right dress for me. Hope you all like it! It was the 2nd dress I tried on. I tried on 8 more dresses and none of them compared to this one. The saleslady said "Let's put the second one on again" and the 2nd time I wore it, I knew!

Okay, so I went shopping for the first time yesterday... brought people with me. There are only two shops here in town, the first one we found some nice things, but they were, well, nice. Good. Not fall off my chair good or anything though. Not great service though too.

The next place I had some luck. I actually found 2 dresses I really liked. I was grinning like an idiot in both of them, but absolutely "cooing" in one of them... the more expensive of course.

Of course, it is different than what I would have picked.

It was a clearance dress (the cooing one), so the last one... no ordering in. We put a hold on it for a week. It was more than $900... the 2nd runner up was a little over $400. So now I am wondering. I love the dress... but I was wanting some opinions. Maybe to reconfirm the one I love? Get a general opinion?

So I am going to post both here, not saying which is which. Would LOVE opinions, ladies! Okay, so you cannot see it great in this cell-phone picture, but the first one has a little sparkle... the second one is slightly more flowy, but I think both have a little structure, but are still good for the beach. (FI requested, "no curtains".) Thoughts?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
