Good call on ordering the regular size, it might have been a bit short in petite!!  I was thinking of doing a side bustle since the top of the dress gathers to the side, but I don't want to have one side to heavy.  Do you have a picture of the bustle you did?

I asked my salon if I should order the petite and they advised against it since they said it would be better to have to take the hem up than for it to be too short. If your petite length fits a 5'5" inches plus 1 each heel, Im glad I ordered mine in the regular length since I wore 4 inch heels! I had always wondered if I should have gotten the petite, but now I know! Are you getting a bustle put in? I got a 5 point french bustle put in.

I saw a picture of a bride doing the bustle to the side and I thought it look a bit like a growth or tumor... I believe mine is a 5 point french (so it tucks under), but since there is so much fabric cascading down from the beading at the thigh, my seamstress added a clear bead to the beading at the thigh, so that we could give that side of teh dress a bit more support and pull it up off the floor. Here's a pic of the back:

Here's the side with the beading:

OK Ladies-

I am having a HUGE problem choosing a dress and i thought I would ask for your input... I am between two dresses both Maggie Sottero...

The first is the Vanessa- I love it , it looks good on me and it is SOO SOO comfortable ( i feel like I'm in sweatpants in it... i love it) but I have worn SOO many dresses in that same style/shape so everyone who sees it on me is like "its so you" and yes it is "So me" BUT I dont want it to look like everyother dress I've ever worn.... which may be where my problem is...

The other one is the Marion,- To me it feels more bridal, I feel like a real bride, I think it also looks just good as the vanessa but its just not as comfortable... but it isn't something I would typically wear...

So my question- Is it more important to feel comfortable OR to feel bridal?! Should I go with a shape that I tend to gravitate towards for other occasions because it looks good on me and works OR should I go with something that is out of my comfort zone but makes me feel more like a bride?! Either way i havent had that "THIS IS MY DRESS" moment and now I'm thinking I never will... Time is ticking down for me and I Really can't choose... Hopefully you guys can help... I'm so torn I'm considering asking my fiancee but I want him to be surprised...

I totally understand wanting to feel comfortable, but I also think you're only a bride once (hopefully! maybe? haha) and you should go for the dress that makes you feel more like a bride. I personally like the second option better, I think it's more of a wow, and if your family and friends are used to seeing you in a style similar to the first one you'll really surprise them by going with something different. Also I love the slit-- sexy! Either way, they're both beautiful dresses. Good luck!

+1...well said Alexis, and I couldn't agree more.  My dress isn't at all comfortable, and I could care less. Go with what makes you feel like a birde, This should be your once in a life time moment! BUT, I wish you could have your "THIS IS MY DRESS" moment; I think every bride should.  Granted this is different person to person, but I think this moment is essential  to feeling confident with your selction.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
