Really? This is a bridesmaid dress? I totally cannot tell, and no one else will either!

I am also looking casual, and short too, and keep worrying that it will not look bridal enough. I keep falling into the "oooh, look at that one!" trap, when I said I wanted casual, casual, casual! Finally, FI said to me... "The people there are going to know you are the bride. You are the one carrying flowers, walking down the aisle, and saying I DO. Who cares if they do not think it is fancy enough?"

Duh. I hate it when he is right.

BUT that being said, I think yours is PLENTY "fancy" and if you want to add a belt or something, I am sure that is doable too. Gorgeous choice, I say go for it!

Like many of you, I've been looking for something really simple and "flowy" without a train that would work for our beach destination wedding without having to blow the budget spending upwards of $1500 on the dress. Although they are beautiful, I'd much rather have that cash in my budget for something else than on my back all night.

When I was in the bridal shop and explaining what I wanted the sales girl were SO helpful and said "you know, that exact dress you are describing sounds a lot like one of the bridesmaid dresses we have..." I didn't want to be rude so I thought, why not? and tried it on... well. it was PERFECT! And available in white and the best part? $260!!!!!! So... Just wanted to give you ladies a heads up if you're looking for something a bit more simple and are on a budget, most bridesmaid dresses come in white and the cost savings speak for themselves! What do you guys think?? Does it look "bridesmaidy"? I haven't bought it yet, but I think its the one..  I might add a belt for the reception to glitz it up a bit but its sooo what I wanted and Im so happy! Hopefully you can see the link..

Thanks Girls! (special high 5's to my fellow Wpg brides!)

I ended up buying the dress.. I just couldn't resist, I knew it was the one. I ended up trying it on at the store again with a fingertip length veil that had a few lace/jewel details and it really made me feel like I was making the right choice. I have decided against the belt as a few of you mentioned the waistline not being straight across, it did look kind of awkward but I guess I was thinking I had to make it more "bride-y" but when its all together its so obviously a wedding dress I am not worried about it one bit.. It can be our little secret ;)

@ Peach - I was really struggling with the whole "is it bride enough" thing because the dress I had in my head was not at all like any of the dresses friends and family have purchased for their weddings... But, that being said our wedding is NOTHING like what they have done in hotels etc. I really considered getting a short dress because there are so many amazing short bridals out there - I say if you really want a short one you should go for it! It will be incredibly memorable as its not something people see everyday and so perfect for the setting... Besides, the veil, flowers and smile on your face will give away you're the Bride, I'm sure!

Thanks again for your feedback!

I bought my dress yesterday!! And it is absolutely everything I said I didn't want!! LOL

I'm not going to wear the strap though, and we're just going to sew a small flower onto the bust line. Without the strap the dress was kind of missing something, but the flower "completed" it! Yay!!!!!

I'm not sure if you were talking to me or not, but if you were I tried it on and bought it in ivory. I didn't even see the dress in "white" but the ivory was pretty white, so I can't really imagine what color the white dress actually is. And from what I've heard and read picking a dress that isn't too stark white is better for pictures :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
