Show us your wedding dress!

I think it's just Sunwing's way of making you feel at ease lol.

There shouldn't be any sort of program - all the airlines should allow you to have your dress hung up - they all either have closets for this on the plane or they have a hanging rack near the pilots.

Whichever airline you fly with - if you want to put your mind at ease, just give them a call and ask :)

I don't think that's necessarily true Deanna.  Most airlines don't let you use the closet any more.  I had to put my dress up in the overhead bin, as have a lot of ladies.  It depends on the size of the plane, the carrier, and the flight attendents working that day.

Sometimes it's better to lay it in the overhead bins anyway.  On the flight I took last week to Mexico, the bride wanted to put it in the closet.  The closet was at most three feet tall.  Even jackets were crumpled at the bottom.  So her dress would have been complete wrinkled.  Instead, she just laid it across the suitcases in the overhead bin and it was perfect.

I don't know every airline's rules - I think the safeset thing to do is to call the airline and ask them what their policies are regarding wedding dresses.

I flew with Air Transat and they were very accomodating.

Calling the airline will also  help you figure out what model plane they will be using for your flight and then in that case they will know how they can accomodate you.

I think the only overall rule we can all follow is NEVER LET THEM CHECK YOUR DRESS IN AS LUGGAGE! lol

I'm assuming that they just created this "program" so that they can limit the number of dresses that are hanging...if there are 12 brides and only space for 6, it would definitely alleviate some drama...in my opinion anyways...

Even if my dress has to lay down, I'm fine with that...it'll probably get steamed at the resort anyways...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
