I knew that background in your picture looked familiar!!  I have been to that store in Raleigh.  I am from Cary - so I have also been in their sister store at MacGregor.  Heard ALOT of bad things about the owner there - been in the store a couple of times and got a major attitude from her.  I didn't even bother trying anything on... she charges $20 just to try on a dresses!  It's too bad because they carry Maggie Sottero dresses - but she tells you they are "all mixed in" so she won't pull them.  She takes the labels out of the dresses and you cannot take any pictures in there.  So, I guess just on principal, I won't be shopping in there!

@ Jewels93  It's a Wtoo dress by Watters & Watters called Maria :)

@ Michelle-2  What part of Raleigh are you in??  I'm actually in Rocky Mount but I claim Raleigh because no one EVER knows where Rocky Mount is lol!!  Not that I can blame them, there's not much of anything here!!

I got my dress at the Bridal Boutique of Raleigh which is on Hilsborough St.  It's a really small shop but they have a sister store in Cary called The Bridal Gallery at MacGregor Village that is HUGE!  They carry a bunch of designer gowns so if you haven't tried either of the stores maybe you'll have better luck there?

Michelle,

Yes the owner was in the Cary store when I was there and was totally AWFUL to me when I went. I called ahead to make an appointment and they told me I didn't need to make one so I just showed up.  There was only one other bride trying on dresses and then another girl on the opposite of the store trying on prom dresses but they wouldn't put me in the bridal dressing rooms, they shoved me in the back room where all the discount dresses were and I had to pull my own dresses and my FMIL had to help me into them!....they acted like I was bothering them by being there!  There were plenty of employees so that shouldn't have been an issue.  I brought a few style numbers of Maggie's that I wanted to try on and they did pull one for me, but the other was at their sister store which is why I ended up going there at all (so glad I did).  The staff at the Raleigh store was super nice and when I told them how awful the other store treated me they said they get complaints all the time!!  I wasn't going to say anything though because I have a friend who got her dress at the Cary store and they were really great to her.

On a side note I can't believe they would charge $20 just to try on dresses!  That must be a new policy because they didn't charge me when I went....but that's AWFUL!

110.jpgTHIS IS ME WITH MY DEAR MUM ON OUR WEDDING DAY.

My dress was super comfotable light easy to pack i literaly rolled the bottom up and folded it in half and laid it in the case.

It was a Provonois named desert i added the bling to the bust line.

It was different and i felt wonderful which is all that matters at the end of the day

I  can honestly say putting on my dress and feeling confident was a fabulous feeling.I didnt get a good photo of me at the wedding shop but always looked through these pages and whooped and wooed at all the fabulous dresses so wanted to finaly post my wedding dress picture xx

This is so pretty.  I wouldn't remove the tulle though.  It looks great puffy.  These dresses makes me want to buy another one. lol!

Lots of gorgeous dresses!

I posted a picture of my dress about 8 months ago, but it was on the model.  Yesterday I finally was able to try it on again, and got pictures!

I still very much love the dress, but I'm quite disappointed by the whole dress shopping experience. Maybe I have just watch too many "Say yes to the dress", but I was expecting better service. Back when I first bought it the lady was ok, but not a very warm personality. Plus, she had really bad breath.rolleyes.gif

When they called to say the dress was ready I wanted to make an appointment, but she said just show up whenever you want, no need for an appointment unless it's for your fitting (which won't be until winter). So I show up there Saturday and the lady is like "Did you tell us you were coming?" I was like, hum, I tried, and was told it was no. The sales lady who had helped me was busy with another bride, so she just went to the back, got my dress, and gave it to me to put on by myself. Luckily it's a fairly simple dress with just a zipper. Not once while I had it on did anybody come and see me. I just felt very ignored. It's like, "Well we already have your money so why bother paying any attention to you now?"

Bpink and Michelle, I'm sorry you had even worse service than I did!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
