ok I freaked out too soon. I can still have the regular menu if we don't want to upgrade. The new planner - Daniela is nice and accomodating - she is honoring my previous set up with Adriana...whew - two weeks from the wedding and I am starting to freak out quick...lol...

She has the same email as adriana - [email protected]. She is really nice and got back to me super soon. She just freaked me out because I am literally two weeks away from my wedding and now there is this new coordinator - who I hope knows what she is doing... - asking me to pay extra and all this other stuff. She emailed me saying that we were having the same meals offered at Mexicano and thats why it wasn't additional monies. Let me know know if you have any questions or if anyone wants to see the optional menu. :)

My wedding is on Friday Octber 12th and I just got an email from her regarding the same thing. She didn't mention any extra costs and my reception is at the Mexican restaurant as well. I'm meeting with her on the

10th to finalize everything. I started to freak out as well but finally just decided to go with the flow. I leave tommorrow for Cabo. I'll keep you guys posted on how it is going with the new coordinator

I was just married Sept 29th at the RIU. Adriana was my wedding coordinator and Friday after my wedding was her last day. It is a shame she left, she was awesome. Let me know if you have any other questions?

Just a note, the mexican restaurant is not air conditioned so we moved our reception to an air condiditoned building, much nicer.

tob1kanobe,

I just received an email from Daniela too and I was so worried that Adriana left. I just booked the Mexican Terrace with Adriana before she left so I better write Daniela and make sure I don't have to pay the per person meal fee. Any other surprises or does everything seem to be under control?

Best of luck!

Hey when do you leave Cabo? I'm arriving on November 3rd.

I just got the news a few days ago too. I will tell you that Adriana was very nice and was extremely helpful when I was there at the resort last year however I have been waiting 2 MONTHS for her to answer two simiple questions. All my emails go un-answered and I am less than two months away. I have been extremely calm with the circumstances only because everyone has had such a great experience when they got to the resort for their weddings.

However regardless of how close or far away you are from you wedding (which I consider mine to be close) I feel you should respond within at least 3 to 5 days from an email inquiry. I am in customer service and I require my staff to respond within 3 hours and they our not always at their desks. The lack of response so far in the process has really disappointed me.

Anyway, Daniela has been an absoulte dream over the past few days as far as email response goes. I was nervous when I got the email from her as well but I basically outlined my wedding for her just in case. I sent her a list of my final questions and then a list of everything Adriana had already confirmed. She responded within the day and then we actually had a conversation through email (4 emails back and forth in the same day) which has never happened there before! I had to hold on to my chair!

I feel relieved and am happy about the change so far! Hope everyone else is having the same experience. BTW...there is also a new director of the hotel that starts this month as well.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
