Hi all! I have been attempting to plan a destination wedding in Punta Cana and am struggling to choose a resort but am going back and forth between Paradisus Punta Cana and Paradisus Palma Real.  I have also struggled and have drove myselft nuts on determing the month to Wed as I am VERY CONCERNED about the Heat and humdity levels...we have talked about the 2nd week  in June or July or even October.

Also, If we do choose June or July is 7-8 month notice too little notice for a destiantion wedding.  Agghhhh so many factors to consider.

. Please, please please any advice is much appreciated!  We have been engaged since September 2011 and are so ready to have our wedding and be married;)

Hi Katie,

I am so happy that you will wed in the Dominican Republic.  The more time you have to plan, the better.  October is a beautiful month as it is a bit cooler and not as crowded.  With the summer months you have intense heat.  Both of the Paradisus Resorts are lovely.  The Paradisus Palma Real is a bit less expensive than the Paradisus Punta Cana.  Keep in mind that the Paradisus Palma Real has very few ocean view rooms.

If you are inviting children to your wedding, the Paradisus Palma Real makes a lot of sense.  They can stay in The Reserve section which provides larger "suites" and are just next door to the main hotel.

Have you considered the Now Larimar in Punta Cana.  It is part of the AM Resorts (Secrets, Dreams, Zoetry, Now, Sunscape).  If you are only inviting adults, you may wish to consider the Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana which is next to the Now Larimar.  You have full exchange privileges.

I hope this helps.  Please feel free to contact me.

Congrats Katie83 ! and welcome to the forum :) the best way to know if you're giving your resort of choice enough lead time, is to ask them.....chances are better they'll have an opening for your date if you inquire as soon as you know which date you want. Wishing you all the best with your research and planning process, and hoping you have the perfect wedding you've always dreamed of.......cheers :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
