Less than 3 months!!! My dress fitting is in 2 weeks and I need to lose 15lbs!!! Everything else is done. Instead of OOT's I sent a box of goodies for my travelers including electricity converters, money belts, TSA locks for luggage and those little bottles for liquids when flying. Our wedding will have just 14 including us. We paid for everyone's trip and hotels and we were hoping for a drama free trip. Well, no such luck. Had to cancel my sons wife ticket as he discovered her indiscretions. Not refundable! Bummer. But glad we found out before she was in all of our family photos! We are having a pre-wedding party for family and friends not joining us in Italy. That will be in mid September and will be an outdoor italian inspired party with hand thrown pizza and bocce ball. Invitations went out Friday. We planned on about 25 people and the list kept growing and now it's at 64!!! Now I understand how some can get a little "bridezilla!" Haha! Good luck to all the October brides!!! Not much time left....enjoy every moment!!

Hey Ladies!

Great reading all your notes here. I am Australian but getting married at DREAMS LOS CABOS on October 29.

It was a huge surprise for us as we travel to Cabo each year and only booked the wedding for 20 guests. We now have 71 Australians coming!!! Insane!

Anyway I have everything sorted for my OOT bags if anyone needed a little inspiration :)

Hi everyone! I am getting married in Cabo San Lucas, MX on October 4, 2013! We are both sooo excited! We live in Anchorage, Alaska and at first looked into getting married around there.  Weddings are crazy expensive! After the 2nd venue we looked at we decided to get married in Cabo at the resort (RIU Santa Fe) we've stayed at 3 different times.  So instead of paying all that money for one day that only my fiance will really remember we decided to just do a vaca with family and friends! Everyone is SOOO excited! My friends are literally counting down the days along with me.  We are getting married at 2pm on the beach.  We are just gonna do the ceremony and cake at the resort because we are going to have the reception on a sunset cruise at 5:30pm.   Then after that we will just stay downtown and party it up!  We are paying for 4 nights for the bridal party which ends up being 7 couples.  We figured since they are willing to fly down to our wedding that's the least we could do.

I have already bought my wedding dress! Got it last October actually.  I maaay have been a little excited ;) I also got a reception dress that I will wear on the boat and downtown.  My bridesmaids already have their dresses as well.  I picked a bright poppy color because I wanted them to stand out against the blue ocean and tan sand.  I finally got my fiance to agree on his outfit last month! Why does it take them so long to even start looking at these things? He received his vest and pants so now we just need to go looking for a shirt and tie.  He is going to go with one of his groomsmen to pick out their attire.

I still need to get the ootds together.  Still not sure what exactly I am going to do for that.  I did get a bunch of wayfarer sunglasses with neon rims though! They are so awesome! I am going to put those on the guests seats right before the wedding.  I also got a bunch of glow stick bracelets so that when we do the bachelor & bachelorette party everyone can wear one so we can always find each other.  Same for the after party after the reception.

We also booked our photographer.  Her pictures look amazing on her website so we are super excited to see how ours turn out.

Anyways, I know this was a suuuper long post.  Sorry about that!

Congratulations to all the other October brides! Can't wait to hear how everyone's weddings went!

Where did you get your sunglasses from? I'm still debating on them for my OOT bags...

I thought I'd chime in for this. I am doing "welcome gifts" which are the survival oot kits that I will give out the night before. We will put our favors directly on the tables (were having a family-style table at our reception).

Here is what I've put in them: advil, sunscreen, tums, chapstick, pepto bismol, anti-diarreal, hand-sanitizer, meds, bandaids, antiseptic wipes, earplugs, mini lint roller, gum, mini to-go snapple energy drink powder packs, tissues, disposable razors and that's all I can remember off the top of my head. I designed the topper myself on the computer, used free cardstock (my dad works at a printing press so I was able to request any extras) and attached it to just a normal ziplock (see attached). I am also doing wine stoppers w/personalized tags (agree that most wedding favors sans food are often thrown out but this is small, easy to transport, and I felt like they would be used). I spent $150 TOTAL on all my favors for 24 people

Hi nbateman! Here is the link to the sunglasses http://www.4funparties.com/Assorted_Neon_Sunglasses_p/wp22.htm   They are definitely not real sunglasses considering sides are rubber but they are only for a day so I figured what the heck? They are very fun!

So we're getting married the same day? How cool is that? I am super excited! My wedding coordinator just emailed me with forms to fill out about colors, flowers, decorations, the cake...etc.  I can not believe how close it is!

Only 3 mos left ladies!!!! It's the final countdown...

Our wedding is October 19, 2013 at Dreams Tulum

As crazy as this sounds 4 people are still up in the air about whether they are able to make it... (super frustrating, but one is my sister and she is having passport issues so she can't help that...). Literally 4 people RSVP'd ... most people just told us they were coming or said nothing and I had to assume that they aren't. I will make it a point to always RSVP to everything as it bugs me to no end when people can't be bothered to do something that takes almost no effort. We do have a group of 20-24 were working with...

On a positive note I go this weekend to do a hair and makeup trial (buying makeup from MAC to bring to the resort since I heard the quality of makeup there was a bit iffy). Monday is my first dress alteration- woohoo! I have been super bad about working out and eating right, so I need to get on that band wagon asap. Anyone have any arm slimming tricks/tips? My dress is below : )

-We also just found out our guitarist for the ceremony had a hip replacement surgery so I am really concerned that we might be scouting for a new guitarist (obviously I hope the poor guy heals for himself first & foremost ...but I hope that in the end it all works out).

What is left on your to-do lists?

OMG, your dress is amazing!!!!!!

Sorry to hear about your RSVP's...We are getting married October 4th in Tulum at La Zebra, I made our RSVP date July 15th and we are done, final count 43.

I have pretty much everything major done and go for what could be my final fitting today if I am good with everything.

My body shouldn't change much. I'm a health nut & blogger about it as well as one of those obsessed crossfitters. What I would recommend to you is that you cut the bad sugars (lay off fruit), grains  (wheat, starches), dairy, and any beverage other than coffee, tea or water. Eat more green leafy veggies and watch your portions. Not sure what you already do but if watch those things you could see a difference I'm sure.  Hope that helps.

I am almost done with arranging shuttles. The little things I have left are my gifts for the MOH & BM and printing a couple things on cardstock and making the final payments. Things are good and I CAN NOT WAIT to be in paradise w/ our family & friends.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
