A Bahama Wedding :)

Hello all,

I have been engaged for 3 years now we want to start looking around for an island for our wedding and honeymoon.

We want to do both at the same time same place (wedding + honeymoon).

Does anyone have any advise on which island the Bahamas would be great for a romantic wedding on a beautiful beach?

A nice hotel (we only need it for sleeping as after the wedding we want to do island hoping for our honeymoon).

Right now we really love Paradise island Atlantis Hotel but we are worried its a big too artificial?

Welcome to the forum YolMax and congrats on your engagement!! My fiance and I have been engaged for two years and we'realso considering the Bahamas for our wedding location

 

I've emailed several different resorts and so far we really like the Radisson Grand Lucayan Resort in Freeport on Grand Bahama Island as well as the British Colonial Hilton Resort though I'm afraid it'll end up being out of budget. I've been working with Kasmine at the Lucayan and she's been really responsive and accommodating to all our requests and questions thus far, which is ALOT The resort has several ceremony and reception venues, we really like Breakers Cay for the ceremony site and the Pavillion Room for the reception which has several large windows overlooking the ocean.

The resort has several different menu and bar packages for every type of budget and they allow you to use any vendors you want as well as they do have an onsite casino and an all-inclusive plan if that's the way you want to go, again I haven't visited the resort but all my conversations thus far and the pictures I've seen have been great. I am getting marries at Grand Lucayan Resort in Bahamas Also. I picked thé pavillon for réception and gazebo for cérémony. I actually visites it was beautiful. I am getting marries in August so hopeful it Is gréât weather

Just recently got engaged and we're looking to have a destination wedding... We're looking to get married in the Bahamas.. not sure about Nassau    looking for something a little different.  Came across a resort in Cat Island called the The Blue Starfish Beach and Bungalows..   Has anyone ever been there or know about this location.. So far we are liking this location because it's just you and your wedding party - you rent the entire location... kinda like the idea of having a private location - what do you think?  I'm afraid that if we go to Nassau there will be to many weddings around ours  - not sure if this is a good idea... The location in cat island has my date available 03/14/2015 but they are just starting weddings there so this kinda worries me - by that time though they would have had plenty of weddings  -IDK just don't want to lose the date   We're also looking at the DR and Mexico but so im kinda still stuck on the private location rental...lol
