We ended up hiring Gilda, who's been sweet as pie so far. I'm going to ask her not to do posed pics- her sample of raw moments looked great, so hopefully it will be ok. And she's very reasonably priced! My WC actually used her in her wedding!

By chance, how long did it take for Gilda to get back to you? I really like her work and have sent her two seperate emails, but heard nothing. My wedding is a ways off, but I would love to have her do engagment session when we arrive for a site visit.

I just got married in Villa Cielito (Chileno Bay) in Los Cabos a couple of weeks ago. Upon this site recommendation, I also used Gonzalo Verdeja of Art'n Colors Photography & Video and am so Happy we chose him. I've attached below a couple of our fav photos. Absolutely AMAZING photos!!! We have received so many compliments & whom the photographer is. Gonzalo is very professional, personable, and talented. As another bride mentioned above, we also wanted to look for a "local" photographer w/o all the wedding hype which every other Cabo bride was using. I had tried to get in touch w a couple but didn't receive any responses. Gonzalo replied right away & has always been very responsive and helpful. His prices were within our budget and he does fabulous work as you can see...and these were just a couple of our many favorites. I still follow him on his Facebook business page https://www.facebook.com/ArtNColors. We had originally only booked him for a couple of hours and ended up using him for 2 more and he was nice enough to stay throughout our crazy fun night! Definitely highly recommend him! Elaine

I have also shared about him on my planning thread, but I will share my experience again through this thread as I just came upon it today. We love our photos and we can't say enough good things about our photographer. Although it has been almost a year and a half since our special day, my husband and I still like to look at our photos. We chose to use Gonzalo from Art' n Colors Photography & Video rather than go with the popular photographers that appear on this forum for similar reasons as quoted above. We did our fair share of contacting photographers but were never satisfied with any responses. And my husband and I also preferred to look for vendors who were more local, less "big name" and less everyone-else-is-using-them. Gonzalo's prices were in line with our budget and he was just fabulous to work with. Whenever I get a chance to recommend him I do, like now. :) I keep up with his wedding pictures and other photography on his Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/ArtNColors) and as usual love his work. So I'd encourage people to check him out.

Upon Pucca's recommendation above I contacted Gonzalo Verdeja from Art' N Colors Photography & Video and couldn't have been happier with my decision. Everyone loved the vivid pictures and beautiful moments he captured. Before contacting Gonzalo I had also contacted a handful of photographers & didn't get much of a response either...maybe they are too busy?? He's not one of the bigger vendors in Cabos but I can vouch he did a fabulous job and worked well with our budget. His packages are very reasonable and he's very responsive. He kept in touch on Facebook and email throughout our trip there before, during and afterwards. We had originally worked in the budget for 3 hours but the wedding party went on way past and he was nice enough to stay longer for us. He's very professional and personable guy.You can find him on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ArtNColors?ref=br_tf

I'm a wedding photographer that has actually been looking to dive into more destination weddings. I am based in Chicago but have photographed weddings in Florida, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Kentucky and more.

Basically, what I have been doing is just asking for air and loding to be covered, and I'll provide full day photography coverage. You even get all of the hi-res images that you can print and share!

I love to travel, and I love to photograph in new places.

If you are interested - let me know! :)

Hi there, My husband and I just got married in Cabo about three weeks ago. I can honestly say that I thought it was totally perfect! Pictures were really important to us. Our wedding planner recommended a couple of photographers but we ended up hiring Gonzalo Verdeja from Art N Colors. He was really wonderful on the wedding day. I am not a natural in front of the camera but he had great suggestions of where to take pictures and poses. He made us both (and our families) feel really comfortable. Gonzalo was so kind, accommodating and easy to work with. We just got our photos back and they are BEAUTIFUL! I hands down recommend Gonzalo to be your photographer, you will be so happy! I have attached one here. Caitlin Phippen400

I just want to leave a note for the brides that dream of pretty pictures but dont want to splurge on the pictures budget. Dont believe that you wont get good pictures if you dont spend 5k on a photographer! More is not always better!

There are many options of good photographers in Cabo for every budget! But what we see from here of course is more expensive.

I believe that having a  photographer is a very important part of a wedding, you need a good and reliable one. But good and reliable doesnt mean you have to spend an absurd amount. That is what I believe.

I found many good photographers for under 1k  with 5 hours package which is more than enough to get great pictures! We decided to use our budget on good food, because your guests will not forget that cheap menu and they were hungry after all! lol

Do your selection or pictures  and send it over to your photographer before the wedding. That is what I did.

I hired Carlos Aboyo and I believe that he did a incredible job took amazing pictures, was on time and very professional and I did no need to spend 5k.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
