Where And Why Did You Choose Riviera Maya/cancun!

Recommended Posts

I thought I had posted on the thread before but it must have been another one! Anyway here goes.....

We chose the El Dorado Royale because.....

1. We both love Mexico

2. The Riviera Maya is a relatively short flight for all our guests

3. EDR is an all inclusive

4. Its an over 18 resort we have no children attending so this was good for us

5. The resort has great reviews from brides and other travellers

6. Food looks amazing, and all meals are a la carte (big plus!)

7. There are tons of stuff to do in the Mayan from great beaches to awesome Mayan ruins!

8. The resort is big enough that our guests can have their own vacation as well as coming to our wedding, but small enough that we can still see everyone whenever we want.

Hope this helps?

BTW- you do a great job with this stuff Jackie, really helpful!

4. Family friendly (we wanted our nieces and nephews to be able to come)
5. They pretty much do it all
6. Beautiful gazebo and horse drawn carraige
7. We've never been there.
8. You have access to all of the other Palace properties
9. Tours and water sports are included
10. It's not in the hotel zone (we didn't want to be with the Spring Breakers)
11. also my Dad has seen the resort and loved it
12. it had more of a contemporary feel vs cheesy
13. 1-2 weddings a day (different spots you can get married including a church)
14. the horse drawn carraige kind of swong my votesmile78.gif

We chose Dreams Tulum because............

1. The resort looks beautiful.

2. We love Tulum

3. Our favorite restaurant in the world is just down the road in Tulum Pueblo

3. Its close to Akumal

4. The price is right

5. Its the furthest south from Cancun you can go and stay at an all-inclusive.

6. The ruins are a short bike ride away

Hi Anny,

I am looking at the package you have from Fiesta Americana Condesa CAncun and that is more affordable than what Dreams CAncun is offering. They have wedding packages at minimal price but some of the wedding details that are not part of the package can be quite high like speakers I believe are 200/hr! The DJ is 280/hr, dance floor 500/night. I thought AI should be more affordable coz guests are staying there for several days.

I am tempted to look at Fiesta Americana Condesa now. Do they have a wedding gazebo? I will look at their website.

Jessica they don't have a gazebo.. you can do the ceremony at the beach or the garden and they put an arch with flowers there.. let me know if you need more info.. I'm probably going on a 2nd site visit next week.,

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
