June 2013 brides- what are you doing?

Recommended Posts

Just design using Publisher, PowerPoint, Word, Photoshop, etc.  Save the file as a .pdf and then upload to VP.

I just ordered from VP:

  • Welcome Letter
  • Spanish Phrase Cards with Resort Map on back
  • Ceremony Programs
  • Weekend Festivities Timeline

I will probably just print menus at home using one of my templates from .ppt since I don't have all the info I need from the resort yet.  The Groupons expired the 24th, so we just wanted to use the 2 that we bought in January.

If there is another Groupon, I will prob purchase it again.  But this seems to have met most of our needs to date.

I haven't started programs, menus, welcome cards yet.  Do you have any suggestions where I can design them?  I'm looking for a site or computer software with nice templates.  I bought the groupon for Vistaprint but I didn't find a design that goes with my colors.  I would like to design on my own and print using Vista.

I'm feel so behind!!

Good news is that I am making my guest book and I will use the polaroid pics.  It will be cute!

Today has been super productive!!!  Woot!

I have ordered lots of things from VP using the January $17/75 Groupons.  In addition to the $34 for the Groupons, I only paid an additional $30 dollars (which was mostly shipping) for the following:

  • Welcome Letters - 50
  • Spanish Phrase Cards & Resort Map on the back - 50
  • Ceremony Programs - 50
  • Weekend Festivities Timeline - 50

More items to do on my list:

  • The maracas tags have been printed, just need to tie to maracas.
  • The luggage tags printed, just need to laminate.
  • Mount the ceremony programs to colored card stock (orange and fuchsia).
  • Work on tumbler templates (I need the mugs which I should have this week).
  • Create menus, print and mount to colored card stock.
  • Print my bag toppers (already created template) for Just in Case Kits.
  • Assemble Just in Case kits.

Still lots to do, but feeling better about knocking things off the list.

I am waiting for 2 more things to arrive for the "Ju

Sorry it took me so long to respond to you girls! I posted a response DAYS ago, but BDW "holds" my posts because I'm "new" and they never posted my last one!

catgirl-Can you please email me your program template? madison.nipp@gmail.com

MMK0386- The host gifts were for the hostesses of my showers at home before the wedding.

kfarkas26- I know that our colors are similar. I found my chair sashes at tablelinensdirect.com. They are the tiffany blue/aqua organza sashes.

I have a question for the welcome bags....if you ladies are doing one per couple/or one per room are you including more than one "survival kit" or still just sticking with putting on in each bag? I have a few rooms with three and am wondering if i should include a survival kit for each of them or just stick with one. (For other items such as our mugs, each guests gets one, but was just wondering if i should pack the survival kits fuller or just use one or add a whole nother set for each guest.)

I am doing one welcome bag per couple. In each welcome bag will be:

Welcome Note (1 Per Bag)

Survival Kit (1 per bag, however, things such as chapstick, advil, emergenC, cough drops, drink mix, etc (things that cannot be shared) will be doubled for a couple, or even tripled, as I have some who have rooms as 3 as well) - Things such as hand sanitizer, aloe, tissues, etc will only have 1)

Koozies (either 2 or 3 depending on how many in room)

Do not disturb sign (1 per bag)

Etc.....

Hope this makes sense! Doing a survival kit per person was just too expensive!

I am finally done with my bags. And if anyone else books, (you would thinks since we are so close we'd have a final count, but NOPE! Believe it or not, some people are still booking) and forgive me, but they are OUT OF LUCK, and will not be receiving a bag. I will nicely tell them I didn't know they were coming since it was past the deadline and I just didn't have enough things.. I could care less at this point! If they couldn't give me the respect/common courtesy to book on time, I'm not gonna run around trying to purchase last minute things for them.

I hope it doesn't take me too long to assemble once we arrive at the resort! I have some helpers so hopefully we can knock it out and head to the beach! :-)

Thanks! Yes I understand and that was exactly what I was looking for. I knew with meds to double, but wasnt sure if i should get extra aloes or hand sanitizers, etc.

And yeah good attitude on the bags and late comers. We have a few people who have said they have to wait to the last minute, and then my father rsvp he is coming (although long story but im sure he wont show) but im still making him and his wife a bag just incase. But for everyone else we have mugs (because we had to order a min of 50 and only have 33 guests) so I will just give them a mug and be fine with it. No big deal! Im almost all done with them just waiting for the toppers to assemble the survival kits and the inserts for the money key holders. My mom printed them for me and is mailing them.

But I am on the lookout for a bridesmaid gift that could hold all the gifts I have gotten them so far. I was thinking maybe a nice beach bag (although I am giving them a welcome bag as well which is canvas and totally usuable for the beach) so I dont know! Maybe just a smaller clutch or something else. So I gotta get that done as well.

I am with you on assembly! We get in a day before everyone else though and will have basically the whole next morning until guests start arriving around 1. But its the packing that has me worried! haha. I have still been ordering things but sending them to my moms house so she can bring stuff down for me cause what used to be my study has turned into a wedding favor disaster area! We are buying two new suitcases this week so Hopefully Ill just do a little pre pack run through ha.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
