I'm working with Dennis and he has been fantastic.  He happened to be in Mexico when we visited for the first time and he drove us around and showed us a bunch of resorts with his wife, Pam.  He has been very attentive to our guests and I don't know that this is his fault or the resorts.  We spoke yesterday and I just told him to make it right.  The resort needs to make someone else upset, not the guest who's bring another 40-something guests and a ton of business. I know we will be in Mexico but this is the one thing I requested so we could have friends and family over.  I will have at least 8 people with me while I am getting ready and it will not fit in the room.  Who is your TA?
My TA is Marcia. I feel like she is pretty good. I think she got us our upgrade confirmed back when we booked, but now I want to double check... Especially since I got the same email today!!! I was shocked to hear that our resort is totally booked! Good luck with getting the room you want!! Like you said, you deserve it! You are bringing them a lot of business!

I can't believe I just found this thread! I am getting married on June 1st! I THINK that I have most of the main things finished, but I still have a few items left on the to do list. Here is what is finished so far: -I have had my 2nd dress alteration and will pick it up in a couple weeks -Fiance's suit is purchased, but not altered (khaki linen suit) -All OOT bag items (survival kits, insulated mugs, decks of cards, door hangers, gum) have been purchased except snacks (I don't want them to get stale) -All centerpiece items and chair sashes have been purchased. i am renting glass vases from the resort and bringing aqua stones, fake orchids, floating candles to put inside. The vases will sit on brown "fishing net" scattered with seashells that I am also bringing. -All guests are booked/rooms are paid -Wedding bands have been purchased and picked up -Bridesmaid/Groomsmen outfits purchased (coral sundresses and aqua linen shirts with khakis) -Bridesmaid/Groomsmen gifts purchased (embroidered beach towels and beach bags, engraved buck knives) -Parent Gifts purchased (picture frames from etsy) -Guest book purchased (coffee table book of Jamaica) -Hostess gifts purchased (custom embroidered wine bags from etsy) -Customs thank you notes purchased -Marriage license info sent to resort -STD and Invitations mailed One of the things left on my list is music. Are you girls using a DJ? If so, are you giving them a list of every song to play or just telling them what kind of music you like and letting them choose songs? Also, I still haven't made programs. Do any of you girls have  template for a simple program? I am not trying to put a bunch of notes and information on them, I just want a list of the wedding party/minister/music. Thanks!! Madison
Welcome to the June 2013 thread!! Sounds like you have a lot done!! :) yayy!!! When you say host gift- what do you mean by host? I mean, of course I know what a host is, but is someone hosting something for you at the resort? Sorry if this sounds like a silly question, I just don't want to forget anyone so when I read host gift I thought hmmm... Am I forgetting something? I am having a DJ and I am just telling him our music "style" and a few songs we definitely want to hear. Other than that, I'm basically giving him free range. I don't have a template, but ceremony program is definitely on my list for this week!! Good luck with everything! :)

So ladies I did my boudoir shoot on Saturday and received my photos yesterday! I am so happy I did it. They came out great and are very tasteful. Can't wait to make them into his "little black book" to be delivered to him the morning of the wedding. If your hesitant about doing them, I say go for it. It was a huge confidence booster for myself too! My one recommendation is to get your make up professionally done. I got mine done at MAC, you have to buy $50 worth of make up for them to do it and I needed to stock up on some make up anyways so it worked perfect. I had them focus on my eyes and they came out wonderful in the pictures! We also moved into our new house over the weekend and we are trying to get settled in. This past few days has been non-stop! My goodness. But now it's time to focus on wedding stuff again! Sunday was our 2 month mark! According to my countdown on my phone, we are 59 days, 6 hours and 13 minutes away.... But who's counting?! LOL ;-)
Yay on all accounts!!! So I have kept the idea of a boudoir shoot totally quiet and my fiancé randomly mentions to me that one of his patients is a photographer and does boudoir photos....I'm like "why do you keep telling me that?" Lol!! After hearing of your success and learning that my FI is hinting for me to get them I'm definitely going to do it! I'm so happy you are happy with yours :) And congrats on moving!!! Yay! So exciting! :) I know you must be tired, but also so excited! Whoooohooo for count downs!! I can't believe we are already in mid April!!

I think that i am officially DONE ordering stuff for my OOT bags!! woohooo! I now have to put things together and figure out how I am packing things. I am having issues finding the "perfect" turquoise for my chair sashes- but I want to get them out of the way ASAP and honestly who notices if the chair sashes are slightly off color to your BM dresses (prob only an OCD bride like me!) My biggest issue is I was working with an ETSY seller for real touch flowers in the beginning of March and she has totally gone MIA so I do not know what to do! I have my first dress fitting on May 1-- SO excited! all I really need now are little odds and ends.. I feel like the to do list is NEVER ENDING!

I totally feel you on the list being literally NEVER ENDING! haha I just feel like every time I think I've made headway, there's another thing to think about! Yay for being done ordering OOT bag things. I am done with that, too! Thank goodness!! It's such a nice gesture, and I had a lot of fun with them, but they were one of the hardest tasks! haha I hope the guests really appreciate them.. I know they will :)

I would totally not worry about the turquoise matching perfectly! If anyone notices, just say "Duh... That's on purpose. I was going for the ombre effect!" haha :)

I can't wait to see my dress again!!! I have my first big "post-alterations" dress appointment May 17! :)

Oh my gosh... Etsy can be so awesome, but some ppl should not be vendors!! I had the same issue with an embroidery shop on Etsy that I used to purchase personalized hanky's from for the parents. Long story short, after a month I finally had the order cancelled, got my money back and I am now using a different vendor and the hanky's have already shipped. Good luck! I made my own bouquets using flowers from afloral.com and they came out really nice! Always an option. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
