June 2013 brides- what are you doing?

Recommended Posts

I'm kinda worried about heat stroke.  I went for my first dress fitting on Wednesday, and made the immediate decision to have cups sewn into the dress instead of wearing the bustier I'd bought.  I was freaking out from heat in the dead of winter indoors in NYC - was not going to fly on the beach in June!  Maybe the girls won't look quite as pushed up or good but I'm willing to make that sacrifice.

I've started having dreams about the wedding, and it's alwasy that something is undone!  In one, I didn't even get into my dress until it was time for cake cutting.  Last night, it wa an AHR (we aren't even having one of those!) and my hair was a MESS and I was trying to fix it while talking with guests.  I think I'm going nuts.  Lol.

Great idea on your dress! Your dreams are hilarious! I've bad dreams too but I can't recall exactly what they were I just know I had some. You crack me up though- the one about not getting into the dress until cake is funny! I think my guests will be hot but I think it will be fun enough to get over it. I on the other hand could stand in a sauna for hours and still not sweat.

I am so glad I'm not the only one having crazy dreams, and I don't even really consider myself a big planner or someone to stress over little things (well, I guess I was upset about the hotel renovations and the lack of communication with the WC but I wasn't even over the top and got over it all pretty quickly)

I have thought about the heat, actually that was one of the reasons why I didn't end up with the dress that I really wanted (Maggie Soretta, Karena Royal) it was just to heavy. I had thought I wanted lace the whole time but then decided that I'd rather be more comfortable and able to dance with out heatstroke.  I  LOVE the dress I have now (its a Priscilla of Boston from her vineyard collection...she went out of business a few years ago but I was able to find the dress at the VOWS bridal outlet). Its not at all what I thought I wanted but in the end it is definitely much more me then a dress with fancy lace (did I mention my dress has pockets?!)

Pockets!!!  How great.  Good decision!

You know, I never thought I was the type to freak out over small stuff but this wedding has really proved me wrong.  Haha.

Lol. Don't worry. I've had similar dreams. My favorite thus far was one where my mom and maid of honor woke me up and I had completely forgotten it was my wedding day. I had gone out with my FI and friends the night before and was severely hung over (which is actually more like a nightmare b/c I can't imagine anything worse then being hungover on your wedding day!). I then was scrambling to get my hair, find my dress and make it to the alter. I've had a bunch of other ones too where I forget things. It's like the school dreams but worse. Lol.

I just had to share with you all that I had a crazzzy wedding dream last night! I was already at the resort and it was the day of the wedding but nothing was done and I still hadn't ordered my bridesmaids gifts, etc. The bout were still half way done with no ribbon... everything was just all over the place and it's like I didn't know it was too late to do everything! hahaha it was scary!! I guess you know you're in the homestretch when you really start having crazy dreams!

No crazy wedding dreams for me this weekend but I think I found someone in Playa Del Carmen to make a gluten free cake for our wedding (just a small one vor several family members with a gluten intolerance). I ended up going on a playa del carmen message board and putting it out there to try to find someone. Who knows, it could be totally sketchy but right now it's my only option

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
