June 2013 brides- what are you doing?

Recommended Posts

Sounds like everyone has good ideas.  I think the key is just making sure people know that they are welcome to attend as many events as they want to, with no pressure on the optional things.  We just felt like people were spending a lot to be there, and since it isn't all inclusive, we wanted to take care of them as much as possible.

Thanks for the compliments on the RSVP cards!

We're going to be doing our rehearsal dinner the night before at an Ostrich farm on the island - going to do farm tours, see the animals (fun, especially for the kids), then dinner right there.  What I'm struggling with is exactly what to call it.  We're inviting everyone (~30 people, don't feel like leaving any out), and I'm not sure yet we can have the rehearsal that day since it's a Sunday (wedding on Monday).  Any suggestions other than "rehearsal dinner" for an event the night before the big day?

Th

@ MK0386 cute numbers! We're doing the submerged calla lilies.  I still think they're too expensive (we have rectangular tables, and with one vase in the center and 2 smaller ones (one on each side), it's USD $62.50 per table).  But unless we want to lug vases there (we don't), it's the best we could do! For our cocktail hour, we're doing vases with a candle, sand, and shells, and those are only about $20 each, so maybe ask about those if you're okay with them? [/quotThe hank you!!

  • 2 weeks later...

Only four months away now ladies!!! Wow time flew by!

Okay so my FI had me make a spread sheet with EVERYTHING wedding related on it to see where we were with the budget. I did not want to do this originally (I was scared hah!) but it actually has helped me so much and has motivated me to start getting things bought and done so i can check them off without having a big sum catch up to us right before the wedding. AND it has challenged me (i love a challenge) to get rid of the 2000 over we were.

We are now only 800.00 over!! And counting! So happy.

This week we bought our plane tickets- found a great deal on first class (we have been looking almost daily since nov) so we got those and saved 600.00 off our original budget for those!

I found a great site for 22 oz beer steins on etsy...she has great prices, designs for free, and made in USA...So ordered 50 personalized cups for my welcome bags.

FI got our ceremony music all ready and has his reception playlist ready to continue to add to these next few months.

We got FI's suit and some of the groomsmen have purchased theirs.  We also purchased their shoes and had them shipped to each groomsmen.

Oh I sent out my invites and have already received a few RSVP's! That feels great to be done with that.

My bridesmaids and mom have taken over planning me a shower at the resort as well as the bach party.

I set up our excursions through a wonderful group down in Punta Cana and we are all set for that except one fishing trip for the hubs.

And now I am working on some DIY things so it doesnt get too rushed down the road!

Would love to hear what you all have been up to!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
