I think I'll be a little nervous/stressed so I didn't wanna spend too much time there before the wedding. I also am afriaid to get too much sun before the big day as well! What about you?

We are arriving on the 12th as well.  We are asking family and the wedding party to also fly in then so we would be able to have some quiet time with them before the festivities.  We are asking guests to be there on the 13th.  Basically phrasing it as the wedding do is the 13th-16th (they can obviously stay longer or arrive earlier if they want).  We are flying back on the 16th.

That sounds great! I'm not sure when my guest are coming just yet. My parents & sister are flying in with us and leaving the 16th. We are leaving on the 19th. We have 2 guest that will be there 13-17. and that's all we have booked so far. How many of your guest have booked?

We just finalized the contract for the rooms and we haven't sent the details out yet.  One of my BMs wants to book now as well as my mom.  So none, :).

I have 40 guests booked so far and finally my maybe list is getting smaller so I can start ordering favors and things! I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas on new items to put in the oot bags? I have all the normal stuff- first aid, medicines, koozies, flip flops...but anything unique? We will all be there for seven nights do I want to make sure I am thinking of things they would want or forget etc or would be fun to do with other guests like cards etc.

Our invitation is going to say 5:30.  My planner suggested 6pm vows so we could have a shot at some sunset pictures (and sunset will be great for the guests at cocktail hour, too).  So we're having them arrive at 5:30, groom, etc, will come about 5:40, and the rest will follow.  Our ceremony won't be very long, so we'll probably be done by 6:15.

I think you'll be fine. Mine is at 5pm and it looks like the sunsets at 7:30 in Cancun. I checked the Bahamas as well and it looks like it sets around 8pm so it gives you about 2 hours. I'm not sure what the best lighting for pics is though. Maybe to play it safe, move it to 5:30 to give you 2 1/2 hours. I'm sure either way you'll be fine.

Well I started freaking out when we hit the 6 month mark yesterday but now that I've read this thread I think I'm ok! Lol! We only got engaged in October and the waiting-for-people-to-book thing is driving me crazy!! They're telling us yea but then doing nothing about it. We're only just now about to send out STD's so I'm hoping that'll make them realize they need to get cracking! Lol! Reading this thread though is making me wonder if I should just forgo the STD's and just send out invitations? Hmmmmm

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
